Everyone keeps saying how Star Wars locals are nondescript and somewhat nebulous. Well, in all of Star Trek, there is only ONE location. The "Bridge" of the Starship Enterprise.

Since Disney is building a full sized Falcon that we get to fly, I don't see Universal going that route. So maybe a multi media show is what we get. But they better pull out all the stops and blow us away.

I personally have little interest in the Falcon ride.

Honestly, it would be hard to top the Vegas Experience. I think taking a tour of the ship followed by a shuttlecraft ride is really kind of the ideal format for bringing the Star Trek world to life and having an adventure there. If Universal were to do anything they should expand on that concept, provide more areas of the ship to explore, a Ten-Forward-type lounge, etc. The question nowadays is which iteration of franchise do you build? I don't think anything has quite reached the iconic status of the TOS movies and TNG show, but Universal clearly isn't going to build anything new based on older properties like that.

What I envision is that you end up on an Enterprise that has had some kind of time travel accident and has become mashed up with several different ships from different eras, that way you could feature something from all the shows and movies. It could have Kirk's bridge, you wander down the corridor and end up in Picard's engine room, turn a corner and you're in part of the Promenade from Deep Space Nine, a Klingon bridge, a Borg cube, etc, with all kinds of streetmosphere-style characters from those eras scattered throughout. You could have the option to either just explore the ship at your leisure or go on an interactive adventure to help fix the ship (obviously with an interactive tricorder or communicator or something available for sale like the Harry Potter wands!). And then, of course, you've got to go on some kind of shuttle adventure to escape. All this would allow them some flexibility with some of the cast they could get to film stuff for the attraction. Say, maybe, they could get Patrick Stewart, Simon Pegg, George Takei, Jeri Ryan, and Scott Bakula. They could keep it updated with whatever new series and movies come out. This would also maximize the marketing and merchandising opportunities. You could truly advertise it as the ultimate Star Trek adventure.

Doubtful this will ever happen, of course, but that's just what strikes me as kind of the ideal scenario that would hold the broadest appeal to the widest range of people and drive the most turnstile clicks and merchandise/food sales.

Star Trek teleporting fits Alexshow's video re that 360 room with sectioned off separate scenes ie the cast teleporting between. Quick lets get out of here...!

The audience could be 'in' a spaceship (or perhaps be on the bridge)

Last 2 shows on Tuesday were slammed. All of the farewell shirts sold out. Everyone seems to know that it's closing.

If it's Star Trek, and it's on Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood. It will either be a movie theater facade where we get sucked into the movie, á la Jimmy Fallon. Or it will be a tourist trap attraction like

OMG the 'a Universal franchise' reference in the press release is a pun on a 'Universe/Univers-al!'

Star Wars uses the word "galaxy"is edge / far far away etc. Star Trek uses the word "Universe" boldly go where no man etc.

Star Trek I guess still has big fan base - who are v loyal
/ more likely to travel to this attraction than Bond / Bourne fans. Star Trek 'celebrations' etc (like HPotter)

Star Trek, as far as I know, died three or four years ago due to Paramount.

As I hinted at before it’s most likely not Trek.

Jim’s a great story teller. He also said in 2012 Hogwarts Express would open in 2015 and replace Disaster.

Yea, I can't complain, I kinda do the same thing. I used Jim Hill as a quoted source for the Muppets in windows over Grand Avenue in a recent video. (Which I totally hope ends up being true.)

As for Trek, that's a rumor we've heard for a long time, and it may very well have been the original plan... 4 years ago. Plans change. And even Jim Hill said Universal had issues not being able to film on the set of the Enterprise when they wanted to, so that could've been the project's final nail in the coffin.

Yea, at the time that was a really strong rumor. So strong that Universal security & legal went after two of our younger IU posters who had their own website and had kicked out the rumor. So there was probably a lot of truth to it at the time & negotiations may have been in a critical stage, otherwise Universal wouldn't have bothered bullying those guys.

That would be very confusing, would the parks be called Comcast Orlando Resort? Or would Paramount be lumped in with Universal?

Or, would there be a clause that says Jimmy Fallon needs to be in every Paramount move for at least 30 seconds from now on?

So many questions

BTW, I still think this project is Bourne, Bond or Something Legendary

Also, at T2, their fog system isn't working at full blast. It's shooting fog, but not far into the audience at all. Hopefully it gets fixed before Sunday.

I went last week and they didn’t do the motorcycle stunt at all. Everything else was working full blast it seemed. Fun time. The best part? Our off day before that T2 was on scyfy and I watched with my wife and son (their first time) so they recognized and noticed so much more in T2 for the last time. It was fabulous.
