So should we start a poll or take bets on when they will shut it down to change it, or just get rid of the ride portion altogether?

They spent too much money to do this. If anything they start making changes at night, but I don't see a full shut down for refurb for at least two years. Too well advertised to throw in the towel. Now if lines because of capacity continue to be an issue, they have to give a way to enter the penguin area without waiting in line.

What is the story for this ride? I have watched the videos 2 - 3 times and there seems to be no black and white (no pun intended) to the story line. I saw a chick in an ice cube and some swimming in the sea and a threatening seal... and that is all that I recall. What is the story supposed to impart that silly me missed?

Puck a penguin growing up and experiencing Antarctica..the ride is supposed to be through his eyes (which explains the rainbows I guess), but not really because we see multiple videos of him throughout the ride..so I suppose we are spectators..that's about it

Thanks. And you saying, "that's about it" says it all. Geeez, Kill Pucks's mother or brother or something!!! If you don't anthropomorphize an animal story in a theme park, you have no story or lesson; we won't feel anything for the animal.

It was already $89.00. That's not exactly a huge jump. Plus, price increases are a lot easier to stomach when there's new attractions, even if they're as underwhelming as Antarctica. Disney hasn't added anything to the three parks last year or this year, unless you count the Test Track makeover and the Legend of Jack Sparrow.

Anyone done the AP front of the line thing? I am scheduled for this Saturday, but I am considering just heading to Springfield for a clogger and some TF softs instead. How long did you wait? How many can you get in line with you? I only have one AP and was looking to get myself, my wife, my son and my sister in line. Any info is appreciated!

To my knowledge its one AP per early admission and no guests allowed but I'm not 100% on this.

There's this:

IzzyB said:
I didn't think the failure could get worse, but here is my friends experience...

She had front of line pass for being an AP holder and went on Monday with her paper. She waited an hour and half with her front of line pass. She said they never announced it was broken or having delays, even though it had to be. She also stated they take the pass when you get into line and therefore if you want to leave or have to leave due to breakdown you lose your pass. The second time she rode it that happened to the people behind her as the ride "broke down" as soon as they were the next ones to board and did not come back up. I put broke down in quotes because while they were waiting for it to come back up they started talking with the ride operator. He said they were performing a test and that it wasn't really broken. They perform this test several times through the day and never tell the operators when it is coming or how long it will be. He seemed very frustrated with his job already.

Reservations are a limited quantity per day and available on a first-come, first-served basis. One reservation per Pass Member and one-time use only. Must follow all ride restrictions. I could definitely dig it, and I'm certain PETA would love a bit of penguin death.

Seriously, that would interest me in the ride!

When I saw the news story about these price increases they were sure to remind us that last year SeaWorld raised prices by $4.

Well it was just a ride. Def over hyped but enjoyable for families. Won't get on again unless the story line changed. Must say it was frigid but as soon as you stepped out, Florida welcomed you back with a great smack in the face. Love the architecture of the exterior though
