Gunn-as-writer is substantially more important than Gunn-as-director.
seems kind of silly that they are going to still use his script...I mean, what's the point of firing him then?
I agree with all of this. GotG2 got too smaltzy with Starlord playing catch with Dad. Really?I really hope they give the movie to the director of Thor Ragnarok. for me personally not only was thor 3 better than guardians of the galaxy 2, but it was my favorite marvel movie I've watched in theaters. I never even cared that much for Thor but that movie made me love him now. the director's humor would fit so well with a new guardians, and i wish he added to the script
Ya know, now that you mention GOTG2, it’s honestly one of my least favorite MCU films.I agree with all of this. GotG2 got too smaltzy with Starlord playing catch with Dad. Really?
Bring on more Goldblum and his melty stick.
yeah but what was Disney thinking... i seriously question their hiring of Gunn and what their thought process was. and im even more surprised that it took this long for Gunn to have a controversy this big. their hiring seems irrational now. (Specially when no one really knew what guardians of the galaxy was and he wasn't a big draw at the box office)

Dude, with all due respect, you gotta get out of the YouTube conspiracy theorist/ultra-conservative rabbit hole.
They hired him because he had a unique, irreverent voice and was a good filmmaker. They weren't wrong to do that.
As much as I would have loved for Gunn to be able to finish this franchise, it won’t really matter too much in the grand scheme of things because the general public won’t even notice that Vol 3 has a different director. They will see that their favorite rag-tag group of guardians are back for a new film and be excited. It’s only we who follow these types of stories that will notice. And we are the minority.
