So i'll be hitting HHN for the first time this year, coming from the UK and have been thoroughly enthralled by all the speculating in this thread, my question is where are the theories into the 10 houses and the usage of the B&T budget coming from?

Obviously i'd love for everything in this thread to become a reality but I just wondered if the rumors are coming purely from speculation or inside knowledge etc.

It's reliable info I've heard. B&T was cut for several reasons, with one being the budget being spent in "better" places.

Yes. I don't know how/why, but it seems like they're on a mission to really wow us in 2018

Tbh all they really need to do is have an overarching theme, and have really detailed scarezones. It seems like that’s what was holding 27 back from being a perfect year.

FWIW, I wouldn’t hold my breath on a theme, unless things have change between creative/marketing

With the house lineup this year it’d be really hard to theme it, unless they re did Carnival of Carnage since you could basically put anything in that

I think the Director or the Usher would be a good cohesion point, but I don't think there's any chance of them showing up

I've always wondered why they don't use both those icons. They are very easy to market and pull the event together especially since about 70% of the mazes now are IPs..

There seemed to be (emphasize seemed) a lot of disappointment by management about last year, and a lot of it appeared directed toward the “inconsistent” marketing. I expect something more cohesive and accessible this year. It might not be a theme or icon in the traditional sense, but an improvement.

I think a big issue of HHN 27's development was the miscommunication between all the different departments. I would think that management would fix the issue between all departments.

It was for me. But it had the potential to be just be a bit better if there was an over-aching theme.

And I'd think the smashing success of the new Holiday offers only cements that. Marketing crushed that one out of the park. I'm sure they want similar results for HHN this year.

Was that Marketing?

I mean, the parade and night show were hand-delivered to Marketing by Entertainment/A&D. Two new, independently strong offerings, plus a favorite in Grinchmas made their job easy. All Marketing had to do was throw some snow and sleigh bells at the commercial.

It’s almost like Marketing finds more success when the creative thinkers who actually build the product from idea to completion give them everything they need...

That's good to hear. I know it was a mess behind the scenes last year, so anything that moves away from that is a good sign.

I liked last year a lot, but for me, it fell short of 25 or 21 because it just seemed to be lacking that extra something, and most of the zones were worthless.

If Stranger Things and IT is truly coming to the event this year marketing has to be at their top game. With these IPs could we possibly see an extension of event dates to include more Wednesdays and Tuesdays? I think it's possible considering the pull these IPs have.
