But...Isn't the Jurassic park area at islands of adventure not suppose to be the original Jurassic park? Didn't Hammond opened up a new, successful park at islands?

That was my thought as I posted earlier.

While I'd like to see JPRA changed to something else, the good part is that it isn't really part of the JP movie either, so it doens't have a direct tie to it.

Interesting thought and something that I would love to hear thoughts about on the next podcast.

Seaworld has Discovery Cove. It's a park that holds few people, has a unique concept and is the most successful part of that resort. It's a boutique Park, just like JW is in the movie.

Could you see Universal open a boutique Park with a heavy JW presence?

Unless they discover how to make real dinosaurs, no.

It is, and I had that same viewpoint, but sticking to the backstory rigidly like that means going all in with JP or all in with JW. I think most people want a healthy mix of the two.

call me crazy but I think the JW theme park plot works in a second movie. Maybe not the entire movie though...

And TL seems out of the question. Water rides have a lot of behind the scenes land. That would be an excessive amount of space for one franchise.

*WILD AND BASELESS SPECULATION COMING* What if they split it, half for Jurassic World, half for the expansion of Marvel?

To add to the discussion about Jurassic Park vs Jurassic World in IOA... InGen never had trained raptors in the first film, yet we have trained raptors at JP in IOA... which is a plotline from Jurassic World.

In other words, we could have a Gyrosphere ride or Petting Zoo in Jurassic Park at IOA, and it would be a great Jurassic World tie-in, without requiring a complete re-theme of the entire island... the same way the Raptor Encounter didn't need the JW branding to be insanely popular while tying-in to the new movie.

That was my first thought as well. Question is, who takes Popeye if this does happen?

They could decide to use Lost Continent as an expansion area. Already it is connected to JP with the bypass bridge. Why not build something more permanent to connect the two and maybe add a monorail between the two sections as well?

Yeah, but Potter splits the lands. It would make better sense to keep them closer.

They aren't that far apart and Potter is already it's own separate world...it doesn't matter what is around it.

Well we're ignoring the fact of the inevitably of Potter eventually eating up more of LC. If JW were to LC, it would be extremely silly to go JP then Potter then JW. It would be jarring.

You're looking at 2 options: Using the JP plot or eating up some of Toon Lagoon and splitting the land with the surrounding areas.

But, that's also assuming the will build more Potter at IOA. When it comes down to it if Jurassic is and continues to be a juggernaut, would it make more sense to exploit it (since it's an in house property) rather than add more Potter which is a third party they have to pay licencing fees to. Also, what if the new Potter spin offs aren't successful? I'm a fan of Potter, but I just don't know there's that much more to add (or at least more to add in IOA).

They're paying licensing fees for Potter either way.

I believe there is plenty of land in JP to capitalize on both JP and JW. I believe that this will be less ambitious than you guys are going. We'll get the JW arch on the Kong side. Thunder Falls will become a table service called Winston's Chophouse and the outside overlooking JPRA will become a covered deck called Margaritaville something. JPRA will get upgraded. They will find a way to snake the Gyrosphere around the trike plot and Camp Jurassic. And the Discovery Center gets an upgrade.

Yes they are, so why pay more when JP is practically free for them since they are the producers?
