Love the sketch Hedwig. Really awesome concept of what could be, and if Universal does something even close to that, it'd be brilliant. :rep:

One of the great things about Kongfrontation was it was a thrill ride without being nauseating. My wife is spin adverse and non spinning attractions are in the minority at UOR. If you do it right, a slow ala Kongfrontation or some classic Disney attractions can be just as thrilling and more immersesive than a fast moving thrill ride.

San Fran has nothing going for it anyway and something like that sketch would be fantastic regardless.

I guess the storyline would be similar to what Disneyhead posted a couple pages back. The storyline could be the this theater in New York is about to open a show that will "revolutionize broadway forever" and are allowing guests to tour the stage and get a sneak peak at the big guy before opening night. After we go through a quick history (mini museum/artifacts exhibit) of Skull Island we are finally led to the showroom where we are supposed to get a glimpse of Kong in chains. However, once the curtains roll back, Kong appears to have broken from his containment. The tour guides and animal keepers will act frantic and they will usher us out the theater immediately. We are lead to the subway station where the real ride begins. The train begins to go through the underground tunnels and we come out on the New York Scene, it's pretty much the same idea with Kongfrontation, and the cart suddenly halts(technical difficulties) where the animatronic Kong pops out and lets out a loud scream. As this is happening we hear the guides trying to get the subway going again and do it just as Kong gets closer. The train speeds up as Kong chases us and grabs us (now we are seeing screen, no longer set peices)and carries us up the Empire State Building where helicopters then come and shot Kong. Kong drops us and we fall, viewing the ground below at a fast speed until Kong rescues us...and that's all I got.

Actually, I don't like the idea of Kong already being on the Empire State building outside, there's already talk (although sounds like it won't happen) of a dragon atop Gringott's bank...and we're dealing with another character that should be moving to be realistic.

If I had to guess, I would say that there will be 2 really long screens, and 3D will be included.

I will put money on the Kong 360 tech being used in this attraction.

I wonder if Peter Jackson is involved in any way...considering he's extremely busy editing the Hobbit, I would really doubt it.

That and I think he's working on Tintin sequels with Speilberg

Honestly I don't know how much more direct creative input he needs for a very short attraction like this, especially if it carries over elements from the hollywood version.

I believe that this attraction would require all new animation. We should keep an eye on Weta Digital.
