Things have changed on that front. Universal was scared that people would delay vacations to see those like they did with Potter 1.0. After they didn't see drops after announcing either of them, they're a bit more free with announcements.

We should get a few big announcements in the next few months

Something over a year away though? I would think they would wait until the year before to announce. But I guess we will see. Don't want them turning into Disney where they announce a project before they even have a clue of what they are doing or when it will actually be done.

Plus Universal is on the move big time, and it seems they will build a lot of a new stuff, so the idea of people will postpone because of future attractions becomes redundant .
AS for 'lightening strikes twice', simplest explanation is that it just refers to the two parks each having a Harry Potter land ...

What is interesting is that they removed all the trees first and they already removed the JP arch. They could have easily left the trees there and it would have been barely noticeable there was construction going on, so it seems that Universal wants to show off that they are hard at work

They know what they're doing though. the plans for Kong, the water park, and hotel 5 are set.

Good to know I wasn't the only one who noticed it, I just didn't make the connection with that slogan and Kong coming to the parks... But it's interesting to know that announcements may begin to happen sooner.

At this point I believe Uni has a solid strategy for steady and consistent growth. They are not looking for flash in the pan grand openings, but rather attraction that will build popularity after being open. They do not want to get back onto the roller coaster of people delaying their visit for what's next (especially since they are going to keep rolling them out for some time to come). Uni's under-promise and over-deliver is a refreshing contrast from Dis's over-promise and under-deliver.

They got it wrong... it's not foreshadowing Kong but rather a tip of the hat to their neighbors across the pond... The Simpsons...
Kono is just a mash-up of Kang and Kodos (taking the odd letters from the first and even letters of second) :rofl:

Oh, I must have misunderstood while I was reading through - looking back I saw your post. I was sort of confused by the fact that it was being discussed in the Kong thread but I figured Potter's part of their marketing now but it's nice to know we'll be hearing about the water park sometime soon!

Seeing the construction today and it's crazy how much empty land they have. I hope this is good because Islands really needs another attraction.
