New Rumor: Shrek to Close/T2 Upgrade

Another show? Being how Universal likes to re-use building space.

I didn't that such rides couldn't be great, they really could given the right efforts, it's just that they wouldn't mesh with Universal Orlando.

To add to the Unique Culture where the park is located. But never to take away for the parks purpose (Riding Movies) . Just an addition. I think if California adventure had a section and not a full park it'd be more unique to Disneyland, you get where I'm coming from?

People don't go to theme parks to experience the culture of the place surround the park. They will go to places much cheaper and get the better non simulated culture. Its like saying, I have been to Epcot, so there is no use going to France (or any of the other places). Its just not what theme parks are about. Maybe at a six flags park they could get away with it but not a park like Universal.

The main things to theme rides on for Florida would be Miami, marshlands, storms and theme parks (yes a theme park themed as a theme park), and not one of these options makes sense for a theme park area

Universal already has attractions based on storms and theme parks (including an entire land for the latter.) :look:

But yes, it's a bad idea. Just ask Disney.

Terminator 2 3-D is closing December 31, 2012 in USH. didn't say anything about Florida's closing so I'm guessing it's here to stay. Last time I went it still attracted a large crowd. I've seen it multiple times and still enjoy it though!:thumbs:

Hollywood's version is shutting down to make room for a clone of Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. And yes, USF's is still safe.

I thought it would be better to re-theme Shrek 4D to DM out in Hollywood, but I can understand why T2. It's not as popular in Hollywood as it is in Florida.

It was never a problem of Shrek being Shrek, but rather the attraction being nothing too special than a typical 4-D attraction. There were plenty of attractions out there(some examples already in the resort and same park that did the ideas better)

Will be ok with either Twister or Shrek going. T2 is still a fantastic concept that works as far as Actors blending with the action on screen and going in and out of the screen.

As Splatter said, for Shrek, the idea 4 D was always boring. Im sure if it was a true attraction with a bit of creativeness, it would be okay. It's one attraction I bypass. I'll get on twister before I get on Shrek.
