New Rumor: Shrek to Close/T2 Upgrade

The rides don't need a lot of relevance to the movies. Most kids just think of shooting aliens. The movies are over. But I don't want to derail the thread to Hollywood so :focus:

It would be nice to see MIB closed for a refurb and themed to be more like the movies. When I'm at the ride, all I see is MIB 2, which wasn't a bad movie, but is out of date. MIB 3 theming would be nice. Maybe even a new shooting technology on the cars, something more like Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios ORL?

They COULD take the room where they play the do right and doofus safety video and make it an actual pre-show in which you stand and watch a pre-ride video, maybe with some clips from MIB 3. Maybe add in some 3D to the ride? Just a thought.

Forgot to add in, take out the current pre-show and make it a newly themed regular queve area, maybe retheme it as the entrance to the building in which MIB headquarters is located in the movies.

I don't think MIB will pull in crowds any differently whether it was themed to the 2nd or 3rd one. It's not really themed to any of them, it just has Zed alive, and the giant bug. And the third one we would have to time travel, starting to sound complicated for a shooting ride.

True. Maybe open up the back queve to where you have to circle back there every time, and add in some tvs playing clips from MIB 3, and add in some MIB 3 music.

Oh really? I have no clue what it's about. I haven't seen the actual trailer or movie yet. :focus:. So if T23D were to get upgraded would that mean new movie or new effects or both?

And also exactly as I was typing this The Terminator happened to come on AMC on my tv.

A 4K conversion is pretty much a yes.

Think of it as a small refurbishment to get all of the effects that should be working back to their proper working order. As much as it is still one of the best 3D shows/attractions out there like any attraction, it has had a lot of its effects run down to mild compared to how well they used to go and were synched. Can't imagine much coincidence with the fact that the refurb and upgrade is rumored when you see that Hollywood's is closing. This means that they can send any parts they want to be used in FL's version of the show.

They would be wise to get rid of it ASAP Though I guess it is still popular..when I was there in January there were a ton of strollers parked all alongside the building (and in front of Despicable Me too), unless that was just people camping out for a parade view. With how fast Universal has been moving lately I would love to see them get rid of Shrek and upgrade T2 before Phase II opens so they can show off the best park possible to any and all new visitors.
