Reading between the lines of what Teebin has recently posted about this, this project sounds incredibly underwhelming. How could Universal possibly think of utilizing something along the lines of Despicable Me when they're basically right next to each other in the park? That would be a waste; Despicable Me's a fine attraction for what it is, but the park doesn't need two of them, much less on the same street, and MUCH LESS starring Jimmy Fallon and NBC's Parade of Network Stars, or whatever the heck it's supposed to be. Granted, I was never probably going to have any interest in a Fallon/NBC attraction in the first place, but this (if true... or even partially true) adds insult to injury.

I'd be perfectly happy if Twister stuck around a few more years, honestly. It's a large-scale physical/practical experience that is unlike anything else in the park, and acts as a nice change of pace from the E-ticket thrill experiences. Plus... Paxton.

To be honest, the only reason why Twister has stuck around for as long as it did is because it's different. I would hate Universal for making a ride similar to something that is already in the park. Let's compare Transformers to Spider-Man. Even though the attractions are in different parks, it is still the same ride system/idea.

Can we at least acknowledge Twister used to be amazing when all the effects worked? Or is the crowd here just too young to remember that?

Even with all the effects working I wouldn't really call it amazing. Sure it was pretty cool to see but for me it wasn't something I just had to see every visit.

I expected more than just purchasing the motion seats from the abandoned MovieRider™ in Kissimmee.

So what Teebin's saying isn't jiving with what I've heard about the project.

But we'll see.

What precisely have you heard and what doesn't jive? Enlighten us.

Yeah I can't ever remember Twister being amazing. If Bill Paxton ran out in the middle of it and wrestled the tornado to the ground and hogtied it... That would be amazing! My favorite part of the attraction is when the floor drops and watching everyone freak out.

Well , Twister was never built to be a "Great" attraction. Therefore, ones expectations to revisit something that wasn't expected to exceed expectations initially and repeatedly should be measured by what one enjoys, not as such as a one looking for enjoyment to come to them.

I think we're all indebted to ThatFloridaDude for clearly stating what needed to be said.

Floridadude is killing it lol. I mean if the ride system works with whatever it's trying to accomplish who cares about how old it is? Do I even need to mention omnimovers? The star tours and despicable me ride systems are perfectly fine

It's a pretty boring and uninspired choice, especially considering they're right next to one another.

I could maybe give it a pass if they were recycling this RV at IOA. But this?

Right. If it is true, it's a really boring concept. At this point, with everything they have on their plate, they should just 86 the whole thing until a better plan for Twister comes along. I can see this being terribly exciting for anyone.

Let me clarify a bit of confusion, it isn't like a twelve passenger DM attraction, but more like a 75-100 passenger DM attraction. One big honkin mess of a gizmo. *spits on ground twice*

With how low tech this sounds, will this be pushed up to next year? This sounds like a ride that won't even take a year to complete.

Like that flight thing at Busch Gardens Williamsburg?

I would only accept this if shrek goes and they build a classic dark ride in the front plaza.

Europe in the air.

^ Well, I can't really tell from that. I can tell you that one will not be able to photograph both sides or top bottom of the screens in one frame.

I can only relate it to that scene in National Treasure: Book of Secrets... the tilting floor thingy. That big, kinda sorta. Total waste of space if you ask me. I wonder if Disney has the lock on the Vekoma system or if UC is just acting all lazy.

As much as i love Jimmy Fallon, i would much rather keep Twister and get some upgrades on it than get some horrible idea like this. Another thing I'm 1000 times more entertained when i go on Twister than Disaster. I feel like Disaster is the only ride in Universal Orlando that i HATE. If anything needs an immediate replacement, it's that thing.

I'm not against new, and updates, but I really don't need a flying experience.
