I mean... perfect, though?? Nothing is perfect. There are always things that could be better. Even on masterpieces like The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Horizons, Spider-Man, etc. And Pandora doesn't even begin to approach the greatness of those attractions. With Avatar, they've done pretty much what I've expected, produced moderately entertaining attractions in a lovely setting, and there is certainly lots of room for improvement. You know, beyond just the fundamental flaw of building a multi-hundred million dollar theme park land that the majority of society has little to no emotional connection to. A theme park attraction that approaches perfection has to be something that taps deep into an idea in our cultural consciousness, like The Haunted Mansion taps into a basic mythology of haunted houses, Pirates of the Caribbean is a romanticized version of the pirates genre, Spider-Man puts you into the middle of an adventure with one of the most recognizable super-heroes in the world, Horizons embodied our dreams of the future, and so on. Avatar the film made a great effort trying to tap into the general feelings we have as a society against colonialism, and our growing sense of environmentalism, but it just didn't quite stick the landing. Those problems just get amplified when you try to translate them into a theme park environment, and we're seeing that with the mish-mash of things like the old military equipment, new tourism facilities, ignoring how Earth has become a dump in this future world, and purchasing alien babies in the gift shop.
