I actually kind of like the Cartooniversal idea, to an extent. I mean... USF is mostly urban worlds, IOA is mostly fantasy worlds, so Park 3 being mostly cartoon worlds would give it some individuality. It does have a few issues, though. For one, having stuff like Mushroom Kingdom in USF and Seuss in IOA would be a bit weird when there's a 3rd gate they'd fit in much more with. Having an entire gate that skews towards families is actually a good idea, since USF/IOA are already very teen/adult-focused, although that idea doesn't work as well being secluded from the main property. Plus, the teens/adults going to the convention center won't feel as tempted to go to a cartoon-based family park as they would a more "adult" one with Harry Potter and stuff.

Basically, I think it could work, they'd just need to do it right. And UC almost always does it right, so...

Universal Studios is move based
Islands of Adventure is Literary Based
3rd Gate should be VIDEO GAMES/ANIME

Warcraft is coming out this summer from Universal pictures. Nintendo deal. Universal could make deals with Sega, Capcom, Sony, etc

Some of the The lands could be...........

Station Square: Anyone who played Sonic Adventure knows this
Area. It was a hub world for many stages such as Twinkle Park, Casinopolis, etc. This could be dedicated to Sega and have a Sonic Spinball Coaster. Arcades. Nights into Dreams Ride, House of The Dead ride

Have to think of others lol
You're really pigeon-holding yourself on what you can do with expansion, growth and appeal. You can see that with IOA, they went from skin of their teeth by following the theme with Potter (it's based on the films, but still, the source is a book) to outright ignoring it with Kong.

And @JungleSkip is right about his idea that a new park does need to appeal to young families. That's Disney's trump card and a big reason of its appeal and success. Both UNI parks are aimed way more to young adults. Not saying it should be directed solely to young families, but it need's a big presence that appeals to them, much more than the existing parks do, and DreamWorks has broad appeal potential.

A park with Nintendo and DreamWorks, maybe Jurrasic World, would be awesome and leaves open the possibility for more edgier lands, like a horror based land.

We're talking about building theme park lands though. Hello Kitty was a partnership to move merch and has one decent-sized store, not a whole land devoted to it. MLP would be fine as a singular ride in a Fantasyland/KidZone type land, but not as a whole area.

Also according to Wall St Journal, the DWA acquisition was more about moving merch and theme park opportunities. The films were apparently a secondary thought.
I don't know why but I find that funny

Too skewed to young families. I would think you need more diversity to attract a broad customer spectrum. I never cared much for that concept. Maybe half the park, not more.

If they could add an Adult Swim area, it could be a good balance. I want a Rick and Morty ride that's basically just a spoof of BTTF, a family guy attraction and a Bob's burgers resteraunt.

Listen, I love Rick and Morty, but that is never going to happen.

Also, I'd rather the place burn down than get a Family Guy attraction

With the DWA acquisition..its had me think of an idea.

With KFP as an attraction; what if they collaborate with not only Oceaneering, but Triotech on creating a trackless family dark ride, using the Gesture technology seen in Ninjago at LEGOLAND? It may be a bad idea, but I could actually see UC exploiting that tech that Trio made and use it in a much grander way; including Oceaneering's efforts in the Trackless tech.

Considering the IP of KFP, this actually would make sense; and would allow a heavy interactive element to the attraction, considering which car you go into. Although, it is an idea.

As absolutely hilarious a Rick and Morty ride would be, and as much as it'd be fun to dine at Bob's Burgers, that probably won't happen. Actually scratch that, a Bob's Burgers restaurant somewhere at CityWalk 2.0 or something doesn't seem like a huge stretch, considering the popularity of the show. But anything more than that... nope.

That KFP idea would work. Although I also think a KFP family suspended coaster zipping through the Valley of Peace with Po and the Furious Five could work.

I actually think that there could be another DWA IP that'd get the Suspended Coaster treatment, that would be better suited for it.

All I can see regarding the Miami one is speculation about DreamWorks

We'll see. It's supposed to open a year from now and there are very few real details

I doubt it opens in 2017 more like 2018, but it will get open, they put too much of their own money in it last year. I think they really don't want to do business with East Rutherford and that's the hold up on the bond issue with them going to Wisconsin and their rare ability to issue bonds for out of state projects. And....... there's another thing happening. Jersey may or may not vote on allowing casinos up there. They have mentioned an interest in applying for a gaming permit. I think k,they are slow playing to see if adding a casino is possible. The main proposal would be to add on a Hard Rock branded casino to the nearby racetrack but they may think they can do better and are tinkering with that.

Triple Five may have interest in North Jersey casino bid - News - NorthJersey.com

I find the recent activity slow down and that article interesting.

Which brings me to Florida, where is expanding casinos at there?

The New Jersey one says it's DreamWorks. The Miami one does not.

I was shocked that one wasn't a Nick themed one considering what they have done with it at the MOA, there is no IP tied to the Edmonton mall's ride area. They had most recently signed agreements with Merlin for Lego Centers and Sealife at both Jersey and Miami.

Never.

I think that would be the best course of action
I mean they don't need to do much, could reuse the river adventure backbone and just throw in Godzilla's feet, tail, and back spikes out of the water instead of the Dinos and then the Trex just being replaced with Godzilla 2014.

Yeah, I love JP, but a lot of it is dead space and crap food options. If it went they could do a whole lot.

I just know Toho is similar to Nintendo, it would take a big idea to get the rights.

Ehhh, not really. They were super protective of their rights after the horrible 1998 film, but I think the 2014 movie did a lot to easy things over in that regard. The jumped to release the rights to their other creatures after its success. And let's not forget that Universal has the ability to point at Rowling, and now Nintendo, and tell them they have a great track record of working closely with the right holder to insure it is the best it possibly can be.
