Is it possible they would have separate soundtracks for Diagon alley than they would have for London? London would be less "magical" i suppose. I dont know just a thought

That would be a logical decision :idea2:

I really don't think much thought was put into the WWoHP bgm. Some tracks are home runs (the more ambient ones.) Others were just put in for the sake of recognition. IMO.

I'm not a fan of Williams' Diagon Alley theme from Philosophers Stone.

I agree, I'm not a fan of Diagon Alley's theme either. Thats why I figure we'll just hear the same old "Harry's Wonderous World" or "Reunion of Friends." I definitely think we will hear "The Tunnel" and "Dragon Flight" inside Gringotts from part one of Deathly Hallows.

Soooo upsetting. WE really appreciate all you do, Bob. As requested, back on topic; So we all know that for fire hazard reasons and what not there has to be more than one exit/entrance to this new land. I'm pretty sure we know that Kings Cross will be a separate exit/entrance and of course we have the main entrance (which do we know yet if this will look like that Leaky secret street entrance or will we be walking into that red building? Will this entrance be big enough?) and then what, will we have another exit over in the "goblin" area leading off towards Fear Factor?

First, I want to mirror everyone's sentiments for Bob and his situation. Broke my heart and frustrated me, and I hope it gets resolved soon. All that these FAN updates bring is excitement and positive buzz about the projects.

As for the entrance / exit situation, I think I posted this in the Stash and not on this thread, but anyways, from the earlier SFWM plans, we could spot this (disregard arrow directionality, though the bigger one definitely is the entrance as seen in concept art. The other two could be interchangeable entrances / exits):

As we've heard and seen, these older plans don't represent the final design, but I would think these are the bare bones of the design, and those entrance/exits would be the same even with some differences in the final overall design of some buildings. So, putting this together with aerial shots and concept art, we will be entering through the red Leicester Square Station facade, and this one looks pretty big and wide. Then the other exits would through doors on the ornate white building, the Wyndham's Theater facade. It's unknown if Leaky will have any magical entrances of its own, but it would definitely be cool!

BTW, I had to dig back to find this, but I think I'm gonna change my mind about it. I previously thought this would be backstage, and now I think I will agree that this could definitely be related Knockturn Alley. Maybe not in that specific shape, but if they're gonna make part of KA indoors, this makes sense.

Knockturn Alley is covered!?! That's surprising! Explains Why it's not on the mapped plans.

Some great aerial pictures on Theme Park Insider today.

Oh, cool! Thanks for the heads-up! I wish we could see these in Higher Res or enlarge them somehow.

Quick question - I was at IOA on Saturday and while on DC, I noticed that it seems that the coaster will "fly" over the Hogsmead station. Is that by design you think? or was my persception altered by being on the coaster? It just seemed that opening up the "courtyard" where the LC games are now will also "open up" the view to the coaster

I would guess by design. The almost-crash is another thrill element, and probably why they chose to position the station in that spot. Otherwise, they could have placed the station right on the left side of Sinbad and out of the coasters' paths.

^That covered KA idea would make sense with the concept art (even though we shouldn't put much faith in the concept art), because about halfway down DA on the left there's an archway that leads somewhere in the general direction of the courtyard that isn't actually happening. Also way back in January when ariel photos showed the red markings of buildings and pathways, there was a path that went left out of DA.

After I had drawn that (and after someone pointed to the route under the train station and the road into the back of the left Diagon block of buildings being connected as possibly being a backstage transport route), I noticed another arch-type hole straight across from the tunnel entrance I marked on the main drag. Considering that the area that is Knocturn Alley has only one entrance at the top left, a tunnel second entrance at the bottom end of the triangular street would be logical, creating a loop for easier flow of traffic through Knocturn.

For example in this pic from Theme Park Insider, What is behind Hogwarts Express? There seems to be a decent amount of land behind it

From what I understand most of that along the street would be backstage service area. Just like most of the areas have a place for all kinds of different crud, relocatables, sheds, etc.

I always thought the area behind the HE would be used for a potential Phase 3 - The Ministry of Magic perhaps. Seems logical to include that as an interactive set piece or mini train ride (like the ET ride or something like that).

My guess would be that this area will serve, at least in part, as a maintenance area for the Hogwarts Express.

Let me add that when I first saw the concept art for the WWOHP, I thought the same. I was like there is no way it would look like that. However, I believe Universal is more "realistic" with there concept art. (if that makes sense)

The above renderings were actually released in September 2009 when the full slate of attractions, shops, and restaurants were announced. That's why they're so accurate.
