Would the train even be a Realistic way of moving guests between the two parks? It just seems that the train would have a low capacity, I wouldn't want to wait 4 hours to get on the train and then have to wait at the rides at diagon ally!

We've been having a back and forth on that. See my post above and over the last couple of pages.

The rumor/concept of a 360 tech Hogwarts express has been around for years. And the way to make it work would be to have duel 360 show rooms (one for each direction). That would double capacity since you could have a train in each showroom simultaniously.

I don't believe anyone has posted this piece of inspiration here before. Quite something.

You can walk it on Google street view.

But it doesn't solve the capacity issue of trains on the track being forced to either stop or slow down to see the scene or the opposite, speeding through it, but spending a ton of money for something that people will only see for 10 seconds.

To toss out some history, Universal has long wanted a "ride" to transport guests from Citywalk into one of the parks. Rock-it was originally planned to do so. It had two tracks (one for guests in and one for guests outside the park), it went over the lagoon and into USF for two guest entrances. Universal never lets a good idea go to waste. Timing is everything.

Teebin, I've been to that street. 'Tis interesting, despite being in a rather uninteresting part of the world! I've also been to the street in Edinburgh which is rumoured to be part of the inspiration for Diagon Alley, perhaps more pertinent to this discussion, although I forget the name currently. This place is also mentioned in connection with our favourite street... Cecil Court / St Martin's Lane, London. Being in the heart of the West End I also frequent this place on a fairly regular basis...

This has made me realise, the prospect of flying 9 hours from London so as to visit a fake version of London is not particularly enticing

Glad to say I was a part of the group who voted yes.

And with that confirmation, I've changed the thread title from Speculation/Rumor to Discussion.

Also, is there any doubt in anyone's mind any more that this will replace Amity/JAWS?

It seems like the minute it was announced that Jaws and Amity were closing, everyone forgot about Lost Continent. I think such a "great" expansion is going to include both Lost Continent AND Amity. Just not sure which will come first.

From what I've heard, it includes both areas. However, LC details are sketch at best. Hogsmeade station is all I'm aware of.

I voted "no" more because I didn't think it should, rather than would.

But now that I know Diagon Alley isn't going to be right next to Hogsmeade I suppose I could change my vote.

Interesting thought. LC being the smaller of the two, it might open earlier?

Now assuming they'll be keeping the current WWoHP intact, I don't know what they could put in LC. Maybe a replica of 3 Privet Drive? But that would be a nightmare to visit with crowds... Maybe a Ministry of Magic ride? I honestly never thought this would be very interesting, but a lot of people have mentioned it. I'm stumped...

Also, if they're building Diagon Alley, and it's most likely they are, they should really consider moving Ollivanders there and expanding Dervish and Banges. I'd close this Ollivander's as soon as the one in Diagon Alley opens. That way they have an extra incentive for people to go to the Studios' Wizarding World as it would now hold the only place to buy wands.

Well, as someone who always enjoys reading the board here. i just wanted to chime in a little with my opinion on the whole WWOHP expansion. I am from MA so I dont get to regularly enjoy the parks like alot of you. For me its an annual vacation. I was able to go to UOA this year stayed there for 5 days and really enjoyed WWOHP. It was great. Im definitely "for" the expansions however, I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of the Jaws/Amity area this week to do this.(Im assuming or whatever else might be going there) I have been going to UOA annually since it opened and Jaws is the main attraction there for me and my family. Its not just our favorite attraction its the ride that stands out to us as the identifying attraction to the Studios. We were just as sad when Kong left however Jaws, to me anyway, is much more of an iconic, classic film and ride that generations know and love. My parents were young when that movie came out, I watched it growing up my whole life, and my nieces all watch it now...its a real classic unlike a lot of the properties Universal has been going with.(no Im not referring to HP I think that was a real jackpot for UOA to get). I just wonder what is the main attraction at the studios the mummy? or the always broke down rockit? I ujst dont get it why anything involving change means getting rid of the things the Universal fans return to see again year after year rather than redoing them and updating them like Disney does. Theres a lot that doesnt work over at IOA and I dont get why the biggest lump of boring Poseidons fury and sinbads stage cant go to expand Potter. just my opinion. I really enjoy Universal and HP but what I think is their big mistake is their lack of park history. Disney is what it is today because generations return to share the things they grew up with with their kids and so on. Everyone eventually gets too old to go on new roller coasters and theres a difference between a great resort and just another amusement park that Universal is so close to having but continually misses the boat by removing their beloved attractions. Does anyone else miss the psycho house?? Well thats my 2 cents. Have a good day everyone
