Um, new Carl Sagan. We don't need a new Bill Nye yet. His has recently surfaced attempting to explain basic earth science to Republicans. They are, as of yet,.....unreceptive.

I don't know, could be they only exist for Real3D, since I think they are meant for people who enjoy 3D movies but have a family member who can't handle them.

Is Dolby 3D used much outside rides like Spiderman?

If it is passive 3d, you would think there was a way to have 2d, just make both sides of the glasses the same.

The issue is that Dolby 3D glasses are far more expensive to manufacture than the polarized tech. Is Despicable 3D? I am positive that Gringotts uses Dolby.

So, maybe four attractions so far... I would expect Simpsons would have been dolby as well, in addition to Transformers.

That's what happens when you drink a 6 pack of Guinness at Finnegans Bar, hanging with the Blues Brothers, before you go on the ride.

That is amazing! I hope they keep that effect working for years to come. Really adds a "mysterious" element to the area that works perfect with Skull Island.

Dolby 3D is used in Spiderman, Gringotts, Transformers, Despicable Me and at Disney, Star Tours (although, for some inexplicable reason, Star Tours glasses are not coated at the top so every time the ride dips, the screen dissolves into rainbow colors). In Orlando, only the theater downtown uses it. The glasses are expensive, but it also provides for a brighter and cleaner 3D effect than polarized glasses.

we could only hope..

I would say that within 2 or 3 weeks, trains should at least be able to run... if thats the case then then a mid june opening is possible provided the station construction doesn't delay things. It looks like the required train / track hardware (brakes / sensors / electric ) is all plumbed up and run.

Thanks for posting this as I didn't feel like going into the benefits of dolby. Interesting detail about Star Tours. I wonder why that is an issue? Wasn't Star Tours first? Interesting that Uni has jumped in front.
