That'd only be plausible if we throw out the guess from @k_peek_2000 on the building having a U-Shape, and that would only get it to being about .04 acres more than Revenge of The Mummy (Hollywood) on Showbuilding size.

Well I guess the Mummy is only on one level where as MK is likely to be on at least 2, virtually doubling the space?

I'm just really curious why they are putting it in a smaller spot - just what are they planning for the Mummy and the soundstages behind it?!?!

I’m betting on either DreamWorks or Diagon going in that spot.

I believe that was the original plan to replace Mummy and the nearby stages. The Studio changed construction plans and the park had to adjust to make the timeframe of 2021. Sadly, that means we get stiffed with a lesser-than theme park design. IMO.

To be honest, I honestly think it'll be what makes the most sense. Not exactly a particular IP, or set of attractions. Perhaps that makes sense, as I just don't think it's fair to talk about that area, until such reasoning causes it to come back to the limelight.

__

To go and pull my own cord, here's my..guess, if you will.

dxjivri.jpg

And for clarification..

  • Using the calculation from @Orlandofan12 on MarioKart's Showbuilding of 1.77 acres
  • Not counting Toad Town (my guess for the name) and Yoshi in separate fields, considering placement of the two seemingly unclear for show-buildings
  • Donkey Kong is included, but can just as easily be saved as an expansion plot. In no way do I believe it's being used as admin space.
Furthermore on the Admin, why would they drop Stage 50 back to the studio's hands when others have said of it now being the parks? Hell; Universal Orlando has a few UC offices outside of it's main property.

It makes no sense to me, especially as if they wanted too; they can easily do that elsewhere, instead of eating away at property that can be put to better use.

I'd still like to think the new park in Orlando will give us something for that space - at least in some way.

Lower Lot admin has been growing because of these changes and additions. Lower Lot is supposedly to get their own Operations Offices. The trailers are there today for the Entertainment Department. The trailers will be temporary.

Call me an optimist, but I still think DK will either open with the land or be an expansion plot.

My reasoning, why call it Super NINTENDO World, instead of Super MARIO World if only Mario & Yoshi are going to be a part of USH?

Don't take this the wrong way chief, but Alex is a "legendary" member and you're a "veteran" member. I'm going with his insight due to his higher rank.

I'm gonna say this now, Chris has been with IU longer than I.

I'm not even on his level, considering how he really helped get IU to where it was, alongside Fu and Green.

I'm just someone that's had the pleasure of having a lot of time on my hands..:)

I am not battling for dominance here. I just look at things from an operational perspective and put my two cents in where I see things fit. We will see how this turns out.

I will say what I was told from a reliable source: “Lower your expectations for SNW at Universal Studios Hollywood.”

Japan will get the more grand version. Hollywood will just get it a few years before Orlando.

I was expecting SNW to rival WWoHP. Not anymore. My comparison now would be - How much would you like WWoHP with only FJ and Ollivanders?

I'm sure Mario Kart will be nothing short of amazing, but it's disappointing to have flashbacks of the Mummy when Florida would always get the better stuff. Lame.

Here's the thing though, why would I lower my expectations now, especially when Hollywood has constantly shown the better end of the stick in quite a few factors.

Despicable Me:
  • A grander and more flexed out facade, including the neighborhood & Miss Hatties
  • Improvements to capacity in the form of Two Theaters
  • Improved Theming inside Said Theaters
  • Super Silly Fun Land, giving back a full kid's play area alongside a Dumbo Spinner
  • a themed QS
Springfield
  • Fleshing out particular food locations from the original Orlando version
  • Verticality for the facade
  • The level of detail increasing for facades
  • Carnival Games from Orlando
Hogsmeade
  • Mack being involved with Hippogriff, as opposed to Vekoma
  • Dem Arms in FJ
  • Making changes to how Ollivanders is handled, compared to Orlando's
To be frank, I don't get why they would be down-scaling, especially when it comes to bringing something of similar value from Osaka. Not to mention, Hollywood since Comcast hasn't exactly seemed to of been wanting to downscale any port of a developing attraction and/or area.

Revising this as I feel like I didn't get my case across:

Nintendo, is larger than two of them combined, and yet they would rather not want to do what they can to the best of their abilities? I get operations and safety comes first, but administration can be taken to other places for the Lower Lot, and it wouldn't affect things as much if I'm being real here.

I get the feeling that lowering expectations is a good thing to do, but I don't think it's fair to peg it down because it won't be as large as Hogsmeade. Hell, Hogsmeade, is the smallest of the three currently built; and they did a lot of changes to improve that one very easily.

Just because Hollywood might be the smallest, that in no way means it will be bad or disappointing.

Perhaps they have something better planned for SS34-44 and The Mummy down the line? Having a small Nintendo now opens up the possibility of Diagon or better in the original 8 acre plot. Which personally, I am fine with.

Agree on every single point 100 percent. Hogsmeade specifically felt more comfortable, more inviting and all around just more magical in Hollywood than Orlando. Not only that but honestly felt more fleshed out and larger(not including DC/HP coaster of course). Also Forbidden Journey is a much better experience.

Also if you think 5.5 acres is to small when making a fleshed out themed land well I believe a little place known as Diagon Alley would like to have a word. You know that mere 5.5 acre plot at USF that is regarded as the greatest themed land in the world. Let’s not underestimate Universal Creative and small spaces, they thrive in that regard.

If Japan is getting two rides, there is no way Hollywood would get three with it's smaller space. We will most likely get Mario Kart and just one other attraction. If we get DK, we won't get Yoshi. If we get Yoshi, we won't get DK.

Then why the hell call it Super NINTENDO World instead of Super MARIO World?
