Had a casual conversation with a TM at Fallon, who said that he’ll be moving to Villain con when it opens. When I asked him about an opening date, instead of just saying “This Summer”, he straight up said late May or early June!!!

This seems about right for when Universal normally opens things

It solves a few problems
1) Low/No Height requirement
2) Fits in a multi-purpose space
3) Interactivity and more than likely re-rideability (standability...whatever)
4) More Minions
5) Isn't a huge investment should they decided to give Minions a proper land later

With how hard they’re apparently going on the Cafe exterior, I’d say this is Orlando’s version of a proper Minions land. Agree with all your points though.

Probably yes. A few weeks ago I thought maybe they would open the cafe after, but at the rate they've been working on it these past few weeks, it'll probably open at the same time now.

Yeah I was definitely just expecting the same layout with some light Minion theming, lol

My hope is that there is a 6th problem being solved, I hope that either between the main ride and/or in the minion cafe they have some level of covered childs play area (under 5s) which is obviously missing in USF now the kids zone is gone.

I think that will be solved by whatever is replacing said kids zone.

I would agree, but that doesn't do anything for the short term, Currently USF offers nothing for under 5s except a bench on the minion ride and aged animal actors show. Hardly an attractive prospect for people with young families (though I'am aware that IOA has more and that universal might not care).
