You know what kind of coaster I would love to see at Universal Orlando? Has anybody ever rode Maverick at Cedar Point? Talk about one exciting and exhilarating coaster experience! When you first look at it your like this doesn't look to crazy, but you will be wrong lol I could see something like that themed to Fast and the Furious as an inside coaster. And btw if you've never been on Maverick or been to Cedar Point its worth the trip regardless where you live.

As much as I would like that I would rather see them build an air time machine over another inversion monster

Just to be fair, Maverick is more about speed, transitions, and environment interactions than inversions (it only has 2). These are factors that could certainly be useful for a themed coaster at UO. End off-topic rant.

Now, if you have the same sentiments regarding BGT, I think most fans agree. Kumba and Montu are both inversion monsters (and exemplars of their respective designs, to boot). Sheikra serves the role as the height/drop machine, and with Cheetah Hunt we now have a fun-yet-not-too-intense launch coaster with a mild blend of speed and transitions. The missing factor is airtime. Which is why a classic airtime machine, or a new take on the classics seen in the likes of I305 and the mega-lites would be an ideal addition to round out BGT's portfolio.

Like you said Maverick is all about speed. This is why I would like to see a Fast and the Furious coaster like this  and Side Note: Maverick is like Cheetah Hunt on METH haha plus it's way better and it goes upside down.

Actually, Cheetah Hunt does go upside down (the heartline roll leading into the Rhino Rally section).

First off, Cheetah Hunt does go upside down (the heartline roll leading into the Rhino Rally section). Second off, just because the ride has inversions doesn't mean it's better than the other. Granted, I also like inversions and absolutely LOVE Maverick (definitely prefer it over Cheetah Hunt); Maverick's one of my favorite rides! I just don't think inversions are the main reason that a ride like Maverick is decent. I believe what makes a ride fun is the smoothness and intensity. :)

lol did you read everything I put? the main reason I said was SPEED.

 Edited that last post (thought you meant something else). I actually do agree with the statement of speed being a factor for a ride like Maverick or Cheetah Hunt.

Yeah definitely. I just noticed Cheetah Hunt was on your signature haha Anyways do you think a Maverick type coaster would be a good concept for a Fast and the Furious ride? maybe an inside coaster? so it can maybe have music, lighting, other glowing cars? actually now that I'm thinking about it more I could totally see a race concept with two tracks.

Kinda sad. It was a fun coaster for me. It was even more depressing to watch it fall apart.

Eh, I never saw any of the films, but I'm not too impressed by any of them. That being said, I think a nice dueling Maverick-type coaster would be a great concept themed to the films and if done right (like the two track idea) may satisfy me. :) Music, lighting, etc would be a neat concept too.

However, back to the topic at hand:

Kinda disappointed that they aren't going for the Iron Horse conversion.

I'm sure the replacement will be worth it however! Do you have any word on when we should expect to see Gwazi close? Or is it unknown?

Personally...I wish they would've done the Iron Horse conversion to Gwazi as well and built a hyper in the back near Jungala and the Serengetti.

But if they go hyper, give me a B&M. All the new Intamins use those stupid trains with over the shoulder restraints...really sucks on an air time machine. One reason why Milennium Force is better than Intimidator 305.

The ride does have a small following, there is a group that loves rough old feeling coasters..to the majority of us that never really ride it anymore, awesome!

I would love Gwazi if it wasn't so rough. As it stands, I like it, for being a different kind of coaster at BGT. I think I would have preferred for them to fix it up, but I am cool with something new.

On media day for the new millennium flyers I rode Gwazi like 4 or 5 times with no issues. Gwazi is a great coaster but the weather here, the original PTC's, and less than stellar maintenance lead to just brutal rides over time.

Sucks that they couldn't keep up with the maintenance. It's really a unique coaster (or pair of them) and it would be good to still have something like it in the park... if it were in good shape. I don't know much about coaster construction and engineering, but could there still be a chance to save it with extra steel supports and a new steel track? Hybrid it up? So they don't have to scrap the whole thing, you know?
