I seriously don't understand how this is a problem right now. This show has been going on for years and years and now they have a problem with the callbacks? They must've know what they were getting into when they first thought of the show because it's just common sense. This is so stupid to me and honestly if the callbacks are that big of a deal then either make the show 18+ or scrap it. Rather have no show at all that one really dull and quiet one

I did not see a RHPS forum so I figured I would put this here for everyone (this was posted elsewhere originally by a user named figment1988):
"just to let everyone know. I received information that this year, there will be a zero tolerance policy of any foul language. This means that any callback that uses any profanity will lead to expulsion from the theatre. Looks like they're going to crack down on all callbacks along with last year's callbacks involving rape and molestation, and they're going all out to ensure that there's strong censorship enforcement."

It was backed up elsewhere by a user named kiwisoup:
"There was an interview where the guy asked her directly about the call-backs and people being reprimanded for obscenities to find out if they were going to communicate with security more so that they wouldn't wrongly kick people out just doing what they are supposed to.
Her response was slightly hostile and she appeared visually agitated and defensive about it, insisting that Rocky Horror at a midnight showing and at a "PG-13" amusement park are completely different and that they basically will continue address obscenities, although she did say they did increase communication so that security has very clear instructions over what is ok and what is not."

My current thoughts are, that's one less show I have to bother with this year. We have a first timer attending with us this year so I had sort of resigned myself to the fact that I would be seeing RHPS again (even though I really did not want to) but I know he would not be happy with how this is being handled.

It looks like it's time to get a new tribute show...

Off the top of my head: Little Shop of Horrors, Repo the Genetic Opera, The Devil's Carnival, Toxic Avenger: The Musical, or Evil Dead: The Musical (the last two are real, look them up). DO IT, UNIVERSAL, DO IT NOW!

Without a doubt, the stupidest thing I've heard in a while (and I've heard the new BJ Graveyard Mash-Up script! /Rimshot)

Without the callbacks, there is no point to RHPS. That is the only reason people still know it exists. Look, it's always been a horrible fit to HHN and it gets more walk-outs than any theme park experience I've ever seen, but if you're going to do it, make it 18+ and do it right. Or just scrap it, which I think even hard core Rocky fans would prefer at this point.

Seriously, tho, guest satisfaction has to be dismal, why keep bringing this back? Try another magician. Hell, just use BJ's B cast.

Well, a friend of mine almost got into a fight last year when the guests a few rows ahead of us, clearly unfamiliar with the concept, thought he was was randomly calling Papi's wife a "slut" in the middle of the show. But that illustrates my point--unless you're a fan, not only is the show not funny, it doesn't really even make sense.

Wonder what's left to be revealed. Some cast members apparently saw bill and ted so maybe just a list of things they're making fun of this year

I'm one of the very very few that doesn't get RHPS. I know it's a cult film. It's fun if your into and to watch other people who've never seen it live. Though every year I think, man it would be great if they had something more or added like death drums or the lagoon show. I've always thought a Horror Nights Horror Show would work. Though now I just spend all my time in between the houses and streets. Living local the rides don't madder to me. B&T (I know these words will get me killed) is a hit and miss for me.

AMEN on you thoughts on bill and ted, their 2012 show was absolutely abysmal. Horror shows do definitely work at horror nights. I still say carnival of carnage was the best show they've ever done. Ricky horror can get very annoying to me depending on the crowd but I never saw the show at uni so there's my experience lol. Could easily be replaced without a fan outcry especially since it's had a run that's lasted way too long

From what I'm hearing, Bill & Ted may have finally found its groove again, following up last year's pleasant surprise. You all should be in for a treat.

I've heard that from someone too, the only problem I really ever had with B&T is that it has way too much bathroom jokes. B&T were never raunchy so I don't understand the need to keep doing it. Whatever though if it's very fun i'll be very happy. Last years was probably the best one so far

2012 was the new director's first year and there really wasn't a whole lot to go off of pop culture-wise. Plus the election years tend to not be the best because it takes over too much and lately have caused issues because one side is misrepresented or some nonsense.

The new director had help from a B&T veteran last year, and from what I understand that collaboration may have continued. Don't expect them to shy away from attacking the mouse - not just Frozen, but the theme parks, as well.

If we're thinking of the same thing, I'm a bit surprised it's being allowed as well... Could easily see it being restaged if someone down the road makes a fuss. Some of it is integral to the show's plot, though, and easily falls under "parody." I imagine there'll be some touch and go.

Possibly, I think they could definitely keep saying its a parody and they'd be ok. They probably have a backup just in case though. Thank god I'll see the first (and hopefully last) incarnation on opening weekend before anything happens

Fat Chance, if Rocky Horror goes out what we will get is another mediocre crappy Magic show... Universal either does Rocky Horror or terrible dumb magic shows.
I don't meant to sound so bitter but I would honestly take RHPS any day than another magic show. those are boring, the magic is not even amazing anymore, there's never anything new to see (as far as magic shows goes) I really don't understand why it is so hard for Universal to find a good show, a good Musical Horror Show... (or why they have an obsession with magic shows)

it just baffles me. They used to have cool shows in the 90s, I remember seeing some videos. Also Universal used to have great Arrival shows with the icons... why is it that they just cannot bring something awesome for the BJ stage?
I would even accept a more adult version of Bettlejuice, I swear... Change the songs, make it a little more scary with their costumes and that's it. Little Shop of Horrors, Repo the Genetic Opera, The Devil's Carnival, Toxic Avenger: The Musical, or Evil Dead: The Musical, I would die for something like this. They could even bring the Creature from the Black Lagoon show here.

But they probably will not.

I have suggested in surveys before about bringing Dead Drums to a stage like the BJ stage. just have the dancers with the scary costumes do their routine on a stage instead of the streets. why not? Rocky Horror is a dance and music show, why not replace it with another music show?

I don't mind the magic shows too much. It's just they have not found the right one for this event. Brushwood is ok and 20 penny was at least worth one watch. They need something more dark and sinister to it. Also the problem is the venue. No madder where the act goes, it's just a person doing magic in a stage not set up for that. T2 seems like it's perfect to do something awesome in. Even if I don't like RHPS I would take it over nothing at all. Though seeing this makes it's 5th year. It could very well be it's last.

Just a crazy thought but before Curious George area goes. Would have been neat to do a zombie laser-tag in that area.

Well in hollywood they did rocky in the T2 theater and it was pretty awesome from the videos I've seen from it. 20 penny was ok but if they did a carnival of carnage show again I would be incredibly happy

Death drums was pretty awesome and I'd love to see it come back too. I also liked 20 penny and thought it was the best magic show they've had and it fit well with the event. Saw it probably 4 times. Would have loved to see them change it up a few shows though.

A neutered Rocky horror doesn't sound incredibly appealing to me.

Death Drums was awesome, with a lot of repeatability, would love to have seen a 25-minute rather than 5-minute show.

20 Penny amused me the first time, but they needed at least 4 different shows a night. The Naked Mentalist, for example, killed--the first time I saw the joke. Even just variations on it, using different words, would have been alright. But as it was, no repeat factor.

The law doesn't say you can't be "mean" (for lack of a better term); it says your characters can't be confused with the originals. Sometimes being outrageously, over-the-top crude can be a way to do that. There's actually a Supreme Court case, where Jerry Falwell (80s televangelist) sued Larry Flynt (the publisher of porno magazine Hustler) over a cartoon where Falwell said, among other things, he lost his virginity to his mother. Paraphrasing here, but the Supreme Court basically said anything that ridiculous couldn't be taken seriously, so there was no chance readers would think it was real. Thus it was protected parody.
