Chainsaw Clown Horde in Simpsons (no brainer to bring them back)

Did we ever got confirmation on whether or not there was no horde there because of the Mouse? I'm assuming there's no correlation there but I can't remember. Definitely was off-putting to have no chainsaws there, regardless

I thought it was staffing issues, but maybe I misunderstood.

Never clarified, considering the music switched over and they had special lighting then I’m betting it wasn’t an approval thing.

Off topic if pumpkin lord would be the icon of next years event, I wonder how they could handle the marketing?

I figured it wasn't legal/approval stuff but just wanted to make sure. TY.

I honestly doubt even if we do get a Halloween traditions type theme for the event that we'll see the Pumpkin Lord as the icon. But I'm sure Marketing could have a field day with a giant scary pumpkin man as the main merch beast for a Halloween event. Though, if Stranger Things does return this year I see that as the main focus of the marketing team as opposed to anything regarding a character that only appeared in a house for one room

I truly wonder if they'll try to tinker with zones at all. I'm one of like, 3 people who loved S&D to death but I did think the rest of the zones this year were totally lacking. I just feel like you can't get the right immersion/scare factor out of zones anymore thanks to the crowds of the event.

To me if a zone just makes me smile enough it becomes my favorite (hence S&D being one of my favs) but I get that what my idea of a “good zone” is is wildly different than the rest of the event’s audience, so I really wonder if they’ll even bother to try and figure out a way to make zones actually immersive and unnerving again

a lot of people say that the fast and furious are where crypt tv was should not get a scarezone anymore,
but if you take out the zone from that area, plus no chainsaws in Simpsons, that's like almost 50% of the park without anything.

I got so used to seeing chainsaws in Simpsons that this year felt really empty. I really missed them.
and for the fast and furious area, just never put any stages in there anymore, but put smaller props and have projections on the buildings and have the actors.
stages and big props are definitely a problem in here, they cause a horrible crowd problem.
but I also love seeing the zones and I love seeing the actors.

I absolutely loved where the Killer Klowns From Outer Space zone was, but I guess maybe using that if they're still doing MoM then that isn't really too possible. I'm sure they could figure out somewhere else to move the San Fran zone, but I can't think of any locations off the top of my head 'cause I'm not too versed in the logistics of scarezone placement yet, tbh. Honestly I just doubt they're gonna touch any of the scarezone placement cuz I don't really think the outcry to do that was really there.

I also think that if the only issue was staffing, chainsaws are likely to return to Springfield, if not somewhere else in the park

Yeah I get the angle your going at although something feels off for next year I just can’t put my finger on it. I still think it’s happening but if that’s your guess I’m fine with it although 28 was heavily marketed towards stranger things and the 80s but had lots of pumpkins. I’m just gonna leave this as a guess.

They should put a zone where KKFOS was, and put a chainsaw horde in San Fran. But San Fran absolutely can’t handle a zone anymore, especially if they want it to be a photo op zone

Wouldn't that be a splash zone for MoM though, lol? Or am I mistaken

The ads don’t need to mention the Pumpkin Lord. We’re stuck on the idea that all the marketing needs to be centered around an icon if they appear. No. Simply market the event as having ST, with a nice HHN31 Pumpkin Logo.

E.g. center the marketing around IPs, center the event around an icon and theme.

If they have the show it would be, but with the show not being as well received as it was in 29 at 30, we might not have it.

They’ll just develop a new show. We’ve had up and down years for shows in the past - B&T, AOV. No reason they shouldn’t give it another go.

It also wasn't a flat-out failure. They wouldn't cancel an entire show because it "wasn't as good as the year before".

Yup, when KKFOS had its street, they eventually added chainsaws to SanFran who were a gang of mechanics I believe.

Oh, I know. But we’re assuming there will be a new version of the show next year. It’s still a new aspect of the event and I don’t think it’s guaranteed to return (remember the lagoon show at 22?). I’m also pretty sure it was well received on GSATs again this year.

I personally expect to see another rendition of MoM unless there’s some sort of unlikely infrastructure change that happens with the lagoon.

I also think it's a safe bet to return since we'll be down 1 FFL Stage.
