To return to actual speculation: I am VERY curious by the witchy bar setup that has appeared in San Francisco. That looks more comprehensive than booths in that area, right? The pylons in the out-of-the-way seating area intrigue me. Do we think this is going to be a full(er) bar to take some strain off of Chez Alcatraz and Finnegan’s?

Always a good chance they want to relieve that pressure. Maybe between the stand and an iconic drink/something not in a blinky cup because they want to get something instagrammable.

Any ideas for food? I heard the menu for the food stands by the mummy is.... under wraps. :bolt:(just kidding)

Hopefully this is an elevated platform and not a true "stage" with a rotating performance

People standing around in this area is a huge bottleneck

Am I the only one who wouldn’t mind going in blind? Figuring out the zones and original houses for myself? My favorite houses are the ones that tell you a story (Tooth Fairy last year was a FANTASTIC example). If the houses tell the story we’ll enough, we don’t need a paragraph description about the house. Let’s just go in blind and have fun.

I would assume most people in this forum are either: going no matter what or not going no matter what. I’m sure there are a few that wait to see the full lineup before they decide to go, but I would assume most people probably have their mind made up one way or another by now.

Don’t get any hopes up, it’s probably a stage knowing them.

Just saw somebody say something on FB that may tie todays tweet to an announcement. There was 16 pumpkins in the tweet and Tuesday is the 16th so maybe then? Maybe not, and even if so it could be a coincidence, but there’s a theory I guess.

My friend Alex has blocked all HHN terms on twitter and has told all his friends not to tell him ANYTHING before going. He wants to go in as blind as he can.

Alternatively, there are 16 business days until opening night or, 16 days from now would be one week until the event. Hopefully we don’t have to wait quite that long

I went in blind to 2001, 2002, and 2003, I was in elementary school at the time and didn't really use the internet lol

in 2004 I started going on an waiting for the website to update

Long story short, it's fun not knowing what is going on...

I actually went in blind to HOS at SW last year and it felt very nostalgic (probably one of the reasons I enjoyed it more than HHN)

These days I really only want to know about the major 3 or 4 IPs

Carrying over from the construction thread, I wouldn't be surprised if this area "becomes" the Central Park pumpkin zone

I.e. branches, pumpkins, etc....a bit more abstract in nature though, perhaps channeling the aesthetic from their new line of merch

This aesthetic specifically:

Aaand they've kind of already done the branch thing at HHN23

It has been five years since I was last at HHN and I can safely say this year is the year I have felt the pangs of missing it the most. Even though not everything has been announced (maybe that not knowing is part of it) but seeing the merchandise and the back of the tribute store clues all pointing to a more "traditional" Halloween vibe is giving me serious FOMO. I have a feeling this year will be a special one for some reason!

I've been wondering the same. As far as food, I'm definitely expecting Mexican/Puerto Rican at the Day of the Dead booth.

If you read about traditional Norweigan food .. meatballs is one of them. That would probably be easy for them to do.

And I would bet my entire bank account that we'll have a specialty drink called "Witches' Brew."

New theming went up in couple food tents.

Very curious what that second one is. I don’t see what it has to do with any scarezone or house we know. Maybe witches?? If so, completely different than I was picturing. The person in one of the pictures on the tent reminds me of Samara from The Ring lol.

Looks like a butcher's area went up in Sting Alley. Interesting, since that doesn't really coincide with what we've seen go up in the rest of NY yet.

Could we be getting a mini zone, or possibly even a "Meetz and Greet"?

This has got me all giddy. Speculation that they were going easy on the zones this year seems to be getting thrown out the window now.

I'm really interested in these food booths - what do y'all think the yellow one is in Springfield?

Not sure exactly still but I think part of it is an actual food booth. Looks to me like some actual food booth equipment behind the counter in one of the pics of it

I think you're right. I just saw a new pic with a spot for the menu board. Man. It looks like they really are going all out on food & beverage this year?

These just look bad. Compared to Beetlejuice and TCM food booths last year, these look like something at a local haunt or images Spirit would sell to hang in your windows.

The good news is it's just a food booth, so who cares? :look:
