It depends on the person. Does she like horror movies? Has she ever done any type of haunted house?

In my opinion, I would try and go this year for the first time instead of sometime in the future. Universal tries to make the event better and more intense every year, not just for the 20th year.

I agree...and not only will it be more scarier, but it's also a milestone year and that HHN is saying goodbye to the past 19 years and saying hello to the future with Fear leading the way. In all-in-all, try to go. Also to relate to the problem, I know the position your in to since it's up to my mom to see if we are going to spend the money to come to this event from Oklahoma.

Unless she has an actual heart problem, she'll be fine. No one has been scared to death at HHN.

The worst thing at HHN will be your mind putting thoughts into your head, making you too scared to do anything. The worst thing you could do is hesitate. Trust me, my first Horror Nights (05) I was so freaked I didn't even go into any houses and left early! Next year I made sure I wasn't going to waste money like that again and I enjoyed every single house I was able to get into. HHN is an experience you don't want to miss.

Dont know if anyone has seen this but its looks like Universal has already extended the hours for some nights. Event Hours: 6:30pm - 1am on Oct. 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28. I know its not a big thing but found it interesting.

I had convinced my parents and brother to finally go this year and somehow my mom got from somewhere that it will be really scary... so now she doesn't want to let my 12-y.o. brother go

Uh-oh.... these are all "non-peak" Sundays and Thursdays. Looks like they're already anticipating heavier than normal crowds....

Really, I think Shekria is overrated, Kumba and Montu are much better.
BACK TO TOPIC!!
Does anyone else play happy music on the drive to HHN? Lol I do.
( I reccomend Vampire Weekend or The Go! Team)

How does everyone feel on a Livestream of HHN: XX on Opening Night? Any objections? I just wanted some feedback, and what site to use. Either Justin.tv, Qik, or Ustream. Take your pick.

I'd love to see another one of these this year. IIRC, Qik worked well for last year's stream.

Ustream seems to be what the peeps go for these days. I know last year someone did try broadcasting it from their Iphone while waiting for employee previews and then some walking around the zones and into the park itself. It was a neat idea but by the end not worth it as the streaming really drained the battery on the phone and of coruse he could not go into the houses or bill and ted with that running.

It was sort of neat to know that it was live and to see the first impression enviroment on camera though.

Commercial is up under "News" - same exact one we saw with Ellen, not extended at all. Pretty disappointing IMO, it's not even remotely scary/creepy/chilling.

We've broadcast with all of those before, and it does eat the battery to hell. It also is very hard to see in low light settings, so unless you plan on broadcasting with the light on, I would recommend against it.

Definitely disappointing but honestly, it's still better than last year's commercial IMO. I'm ready to start seeing the ads pop up on TV and on billboards though. I'm shocked that neither HOS or HHN have billboards up in my area yet. At this time last year, they were all over the place.
