Not full "lands" so to speak, but I think my idea (that I still gotta find) of certain areas could actually work

Areas cooould potentially work. I may not be completely fond of it, but it wouldn't be terrible if they knew how to approach it correctly. If they were to create "areas" of the park, I'd rather they spruce it up a bit to fit its respective name - not just label certain areas of the park and expect you to know the differences or transitions.

I don't know, it wouldn't feel as organical as it does in Disneyland, since somehow they managed to make seamless transitions between lands, I don't think it could work here since you walk 5 steps from Jurassic Park and you are in a completely unrelated area which is Egypt. But better theming in cues and such wouldn't be bad though

Revenge of the Mummy doesn't even promote an Egyptian atmosphere. If it weren't for the music or the infamous arch held by the two Anubis statues, nobody would know what Universal was trying to get across to the guests.

I agree. As a fan of Ancient Egyptian "anything", they didn't do a good enough job in Hollywood fully conveying it. It needs to be in the scale of the Singapore version to fully get a more accurate Egyptian atmosphere.

Honestly, if they had pulled a Transformers for our rendition of The Mummy and built vertically, we could've had much better exterior theming (let alone a better attraction). Think about it. Florida and Singapore have much better theming, no doubt. Why? Well, our building is literally twice as small as theirs (height-wise). In Florida, it looks as if you're really about to walk into a museum full of antiquities. In Singapore, it looks as if you're actually entering an ancient tomb. Here, no one is completely sure what they're getting themselves into. I'm always gonna be upset with our attraction compared to theirs.

Aaaanyways, if they ever plan on creating some type of "Ancient Egypt" area anchored by Revenge of the Mummy, they'd better get to work on theming. If they simply slap a label on that part of the Lower Lot and call it a day, I'm gonna laugh.

With that new Transformers "show" you could call that whole area "Transformers Land". Probably the best U can do considering the small area they have to work with. Really not much room for full "land" theming, I think.

After watching the videocast and hearing the crew answer my question, I kinda realized what I REALLY want from USH. I don't really want USH getting mini lands or areas (besides Potter). It's not practical to make lands, especially redoing the park to make it work.

What I DO want is for all of the current rides and attractions to be properly and fully themed and not have half assed facades or queues, etc. That's what I want. Lands don't work completely in our park. What WOULD work, and I hope you guys will back me up on this, would be to have a proper full Egyptian exterior for the Mummy like in Singapore. Have a better facade for the Simpsons that covers up the two dome buildings. Have a better Terminator facade. See what I'm getting at? I guess I'm not crazy about having lands after all. I simply want the rides, no matter how randomly placed they are, to be fully and completely themed, inside and out.

Another thing I wanna touch base on again, is the whole nostalgia factor. I will always be nostalgic about and miss the old USH. I grew up with it and it was an amazing place to be at.

Jon, I got what you meant by not staying in the past. As much as I love the older experiences, I agree. My personal issue has been that the new experiences have been based on A. A non Universal property. B. Simply a property I'm not a fan of at all (Simpsons) or C. The new experience is a cheaper and not as high tech experience as the ride it replaced (Terminator into Minion Mayhem. Chris mentioned it).

So for me, I'm all for moving to the future. I love the Transformers ride. I will love Harry Potter. I love what the Mummy ride is based on. However, I'm just not a fan that a few other experiences we got were of lesser quality or technology than it's predecessor. Just wanted to put it out there that I'm not so much as stuck in the past, but sore that the new rides aren't as great as a few of the old ones.

On a side note, I honestly think Jurassic Park and the Wizarding World are gonna stick out like sore thumbs. They're both fully immersive environments with music from the films blasting in all directions, landmarks no one can miss, and well-themed attractions.

Back to the topic: people say they're upset with the new attractions (Simpsons, Mummy, Minions) that've replaced the old ones (BTTF, E.T., Terminator) because the rides themselves just simply aren't as good. The Simpsons Ride and our version of ROTM just seem cheap compared to its predecessors, and I feel like if they were done better, they wouldn't receive as many complaints.

Being a bit of a traditional gal, I grew up on "E.T. Adventure" and I would love to see it now as an adult and I would love to bring my kids if I have any. I will be able to do that at Disney (Snow White, Peter Pan, Small World) but not a USH.

E.T. Adventure is still operating at USF, but there are rumors about it closing in the near future (along with the rest of Woody Woodpecker's KidZone).

ET Adventure is honestly one of my biggest reasons for me wanting to go to Florida. I'm gonna be a mess after my first time....

I'm not sure how it compares to what we had, but it's certainly a timeless attraction. The indoor queue is fantastic, and I think the idea of the guests actually riding bikes and flying through the sky is awesome. It'll be a sad day when they announce its departure.

The ride and queue are almost identical. A few lighting effects are different in a few significant parts, otherwise it's the same. It's an amazing experience which I dearly miss. It was even more timeless than BTTF.

I feel like I read somewhere that Spielberg made a deal with Universal that he'll be fine with USH losing ET as long as USF still kept its version. I don't know how true that is, but I hope it is true. USF needs to keep its last opening day attraction. That, and it's a much needed family ride. I hope they keep it. Either way, I'm hoping to visit Florida next year

Nowadays, E.T. Adventure only gets a 30 minute wait at the most. Unfortunately, I don't see it staying for much longer. The entire KidZone is in dire need of refurbishment, and it seems as though it'll actually happen after the whole Jurassic Park expansion is sorted out.

I can understand why long time Universal fans are becoming so upset. What's a Universal park without classics such as BTTF, Kong, E.T., or Jaws?

Well, they can refurb and redo the rest of KidZone and still keep ET and give him a proper refurb as well.

It has a unique ride system that everyone loves, I wish more rides had the overhead ET/Peter Pan ride system. I'm hoping ET will stay.

It's unknown at this point whether it'll be a refurb or a complete redo, but either way, E.T.'s days could be numbered. I really enjoy the overhead ride system as well.. it's a shame that we don't have it anymore.  -_-
