Alright, JD moment aside, I feel like speaking up here. Maybe it's because I'm more of an optimist more often than not, or I'm reading into the following too much, but while I don't disagree with some of the criticisms (and it's unfortunate to hear that the land's attracted rowdy people making it harder for everyone), is it weird to say there's something that just feels disheartening about the air about them, almost as if it's underselling how we at least managed to get SNW at the end of the day if that makes sense? Though I probably just have the aforementioned east coast bias in mind (which was something I was only just now able to lay my finger on).
As much as I wish Panda and studio Cafe got torn down for the land and will forever be scratching my head on why the MKBC queue doesn't use the whole upper floor of the building for queue space like it does in Japan, I think I just always had in mind that USH has always been heavily land locked due to being on the same premises as the studio itself. Considering we already did get the short end of the stick time and time again, I wanna say I think they did the best with the hand they were given.
Maybe I'm also biased as someone who grew up with the games and has fallen madly in love with the land's music and other touches, but I just can't really bring myself to dismiss the land after how long we've waited, etc. I don't disagree that the land could use additions and maybe even a future expansion down the line, but I'd rather we have the land than no land at all.
Despite the drawbacks it's easily become my favorite part of Universal now and then there's my impending trip with some friends who are excited to see the land, so I'm certain the land is still capable of being a blast for those who love the IP despite everything. Though, that said I see where people who have no such attachment are coming from, since I can't imagine them buying a power up band immediately.
Who knows, maybe the pressure will die down a tad once the F&F coaster opens, because by the time we got SLOP after the additions that came after HP, I think crowds felt more diluted aside from the night shows.
TL;DR, I'm just happy we still have SNW, warts and all, but yeah, I still think the land could be improved. Keep making your voices heard in those surveys.
(Eesh, that got longer than I thought)
