Perhaps it was just the part of me that doesn't want to give up a day of my DL trip in oct to try it. I'd rather do it in 2014 in Orlando

Trust me, I've been wrestling with the same thing. But the studio tour is definitely enough to get me to go to USH.

You know, a Transformers/misc property would really serve to keep people coming to the parks after the big Potter announcement

I just hope it isn't Battleship, that is the only Uni property I would not want in the parks

A day trip to USH is worth it, especially if you've never been. The Studio Tour, the different Mummy, WaterWorld, and now Transformers are all must-sees.

I really hope that Universal fights hard to keep Spidey and MSHI, such a great area.

Ok, a few new pieces of info for you all.

The balloons were flown to the height of the NYC facades.

Donkey M&G is being relocated but at this point, where is unclear.

ZINGER: Fake Productions was at work in SS44 for HHN and even walls for a 'house' had been built inside. One day they are working and the next they are ordered out and next the announcement that the building was coming down.

Make of that what you can/will.

Thanks for the update, Teebin.

About how high are those NYC facades?

And is there room anywhere for the Donkey meet and greet to go?

As for HHN, that's really surprising. I hope they find a replacement area for it.

The four story buildings are close to 40'. The more common three story are 32' or so.

So Theme Park Insider believes this is indeed Transformers.

Yeah.. I am really excited to see. After being in the park yesterday, seeing the walls, seeing everything else, I am getting fever pitch excited about this amazingly fast tracked idea.

It's pretty unusual for construction to work on doing site work outside a building that is going to be demolished prior to demolishing that building. But then, so far everything about this has been unusual.

Okay after a discussion on twitter with Theme Park Insider, I'm going to do some spitballing. The following is based on absolutely no inside information and is highly, highly speculative.

IF this is Transformers, I actually could see this marking the beginning for the end of MSHI. I know I've always been one of those saying that Marvel won't leave Uni any time soon, but this whole project just brings up so many questions. First of all, the rush. They obviously want this done sooner rather than later, and the project seems to be a surprise to everyone. usually you'll have one or two people knowing before this happens. But everyone seems to be scrambling to get everything into place here. Why? Is it because they know they might be shutting down Spider-man for good a few years down the line?

Then we factor in most people's insistence that Transformers wouldn't be coming to UOR in the past months. What changed their minds? Now, again, the following is a huge leap and assumes quite a bit, but here we go. What if Disney offered them something they couldn't refuse? And what if, with that knowledge, they inquired with Warner Brothers (who they already have a great working relationship with considering WWoHP) and got the Floridian rights for DC Comics, who are owned by WB. Now, Universal has a pile of money from Disney to retheme the land to DC after Potter Phase II opens as well as add a new ride to the area, and also has Transformers to lighten the load while Spider-man is rethemed. I don't know if it's possible, but its intriguing.

If I get Transformers, Batman, Potter, and an Avengers ride/land for DHS out of the deal I'm all for it.

I'm not...I would hate for Disney to have the Marvel characters in WDW, not that they couldn't do something awesome with it or anything, but that is just the problem, it could be their answer to Potter..Uni just got to a point where it is a threat to WDW's business..Marvel could easily be used as ammunition..

P.S. With the haunted house being demolished I'm curious whether or not we will see a replacement or not..I've always wanted to see an outdoor house that uses the NY alleys and the old Nazarman's together (Vampyr dosen't count btw)

Potter has legitimized Uni and Comcast is investing heavily. There's nothing to worry about on the Uni front.

The pictures of the backhoe digging inside the walls, but outside the building. If the building is coming down, which I think we could assume if a new attraction is coming there it would have to, then it is much wiser to wait until after that happens to do any digging, simply so the equipment has more room to work safely.

**First post on page 25 of this thread shows a small excavator tucked under one of the sides of the building, and a spoil pile, which means digging has taken place.**

**2nd edit, from looking at the location of the spoil pile, the only thing that makes any sense is disconnecting the water supply to the building**

I don't know spit about destruction and demolition, however, letting my mind wander... I can imagine there might be some appliance(s)/machines of value inside the building that were set in concrete and they want it out of the building before the nasty stuff starts. The fire lines alone might require cutting/capping underground before they go hog wild with the rest of the building. To do this they might have to shut off a main fireline after park closing, cap the one, and turn the main back on before business resumes the next day. Sound good?

Well, the appliances and machines would obviously be on the inside so heavy equipment wouldn't really help there, and the spoil pile was asphalt, so it was clearly dug outside. It seems almost inconceivable to me that they wouldn't have shut off valves for every building that is easily accessible in the event of a water leak. I guess what I'm saying is, it's unnecessary to cap stuff off before demolition if we're talking street level things. Fire suppression lines are the only thing I can think of that might require capping. Just trying to figure the order of all this like we all are. Guess my point was, digging at this juncture isn't the usual way things go.
