Regardless of how its themed, I think it would always stick out due to the massiveness of the building.

Just as there are ways to make buildings look bigger, there are ways to make them looks smaller. Facades with truer floor-to-floor heights, or maybe even slightly exaggerated, could have helped to hide the size. Only noting two or three levels only makes the thing look bigger.

But you don't want your Major attractions to completely blend in. You want them to be noticeable. If they went with new york facades it wouldn't visually appear any different then delancy street. It would fit a lot better to you or I, but you need to make it as obvious as possible to the average park guest.

This is a valid point I hadn't considered. I mean, look at T2:3D :look: Blink and you miss it.

^ Exactly... and that is why I kept missing it for months. I thought it was just some junk film promo.

I was just channel surfing and I caught what they called a "sneak peak" on FOX 35 News... Though it was just a feature with some ride video, shots of the meet & greet, shots of the outside of the building, and brief interviews with Jim Timon and Thierry Coup. Nothing we haven't seen before.

DH, do you know what happened to the CFN13 article?

The CFNews 13 article was basically the same thing as the FOX35 piece. Shots of the exterior, meet and greet, store, and stock on ride footage. I do not believe that anyone one actually made it into the building.

it was pretty much jsut promoting the store and the meet and greet. Still sounds like they are testing, and should be soft opening pretty soon. My guess is first week of May

Yea, but T2 is tucked back into a corner and completely nondescript. Not a giant building in the middle of the park. I don't buy that they would have built it and themed it well and no one would have been able to find it.

Your thinking like an enthusiast who visits the park frequently. On a daily basis there are people who walk up to various greeters and ask "Where is that Rockit ride?" while looking at a map. They're on vacation in a park they may have never been in before. Attractions need to be slap you in the face obvious to make an average guests day easier. Yes people will find it either way as it's an E-Ticket. But the idea is to have people see it, not make them look for it.

If they find it, it doesn't matter. That's what the greeters are there for. I worked at the Jungle Cruise and had people asking me if it was Pirates of the Caribbean while standing right underneath the giant, and obvious, JUNGLE CRUISE sign. Just because guests can sometimes be oblivious doesn't mean they should forgo proper theming.

But it's just plain poor guest service to build something with that attitude. Your right the greeters are there to provide information. That doesn't mean you should make a building place in a less traveled portion of the park look like it's surrounding buildings and make the guests hunt for it.

And as far as forgo proper theming,I seem to recall indecisiveness as to if this was part of production central, hollywood or new york. So what the proper theme should be is rather subjective. For a theme park a big nest headquarters building seems to be rather well themed if when you go inside your going to be in nest headquarters.

As I've said multiple times, the NEST headquarters theme isn't a problem for me. The problem is how lazily and terribly they executed it.

A design can still be distinctive while working with its context. There are always trade offs. Acknowledging all four sides as Transformers: The Ride 3D opens up people getting lost trying to figure out which side holds the entrance.

Very true, but it also makes it clear what direction to head from the music plaza.

I do think they went a tad overboard with the decals (and the hideous catwalk) but I'm fine with it. It's something else to do at the park.

Yeah, way too many decals on that. Sometimes less is more.
