And one more,

Also just an FYI after the show I took a spin around the lagoon and work lights were firing up here and over at Potter. Gonna be a busy night it seems.

Wouldn't be surprised to see it all down by tomorrow afternoon.

If Uni considers this a 'portion' of the building... then they are never invited to my birthday party. "Portion of cake anyone?".

Not try and derail all this talk of DEMOLITION but does anyone have any preferences to what this might be.

Anyone not happy with any of these???

-House of Horrors Walkthrough maze
-Haunted Darkride
-Kong 360 type attraction
-Fast and Furious Attraction
-Transformers

I am not a fan of Fast and Furious, so that would be my last choice. But, if the ride is good, I wouldn't care one way or the other.

I'd be happiest with a Transformers ride; Kong would be my second choice; the rest are just above "meh."

I'll throw in a new one.

One birdie has said "Restaurant". Specifically set-up for character dining.

Please... no!
The place needs another attraction, thats not Potter.
F&F has zero interest for me.

While it's not what I want particularly, from Uni'[s perspective, the one area they are still majorly losing out to Disney is in character dining. I can easily see this being what it is. Chatacter dining is a lucrative business and Uni has very few of them. The only one I think they have right now is the Superstar Parade character meal and the seasonal Grinch character meal. So while i'd much rather Transformers or something like that, I could definitely understand the logic and business sense behind adding a character restaurant.

I'm not buying the Character Dining rumor. They did just reopen Cafe La Bamba for the Superstar Parade Character dining. They also have characters at night at each of the resort hotels. They used to have character breakfasts at Confiscos but they have since taken it seasonal due to the lack of interest. Since Monsters Cafe is closed a lot of the time and Cafe La Bamba has been closed for years, I don't see that they need more dining capacity. Maybe after Potter 2.0 opens, but no need to rush it at this point.

So I am assuming that we haven't actually heard the rumor of what this is yet.

Yea, I have to doubt that they'd be in an insane rush to start building a character dining area when they have just opened a serviceable one in a location that had been shuttered for years, and that the park really isn't hurting for dining capacity. And are Universal's character dining meals all that popular?

And since the info I got was possibly bad, I'm just going to assume that this is something crazy.

I agree, but aren't the more marketable characters on the IoA side? Who's left at Uni, Men in Black and Marty McFly? I would think cuddly Seuss characters and Marvel heroes are the way to go.

They can use any number of characters for the dining. Spongebob, Minions and Gru, Dora, Hop, Madagascar, Simpsons, Curious George, Shrek and Donkey, etc...

Take Fast & Furious out of the equation for sure because if Universal were to attract people who are not really fans of the franchise, they should do something similar to Test Track, which of course would not fit in that area. The best location would be in between MIB and Simpsons. Also, cross out the House of Horrors maze, since it has been very unsuccessful over in Hollywood. Kong 360, Transformers, and maybe a haunted darkride are the most probable .. and no way do I see this becoming a character dining restaurant.

You can now see New York through SS44's remains. They're moving fast.

I'll be shocked if it's Kong or Transformers. Kong needs to be expanded from what's in Hollywood. As is it wouldn't work as a stand alone experience.

As for TF, they can't dig down as much as they did in Hollywood due to the water table, if I had to guess. That means the building would have to be pretty tall in the direct center of the park and seen from all sides. They'd either have to spend a tone of money to theme it, or we'd have a giant ugly box in the center of the park.

Personally, I'm thinking maybe they will create an elaborate exhibit focusing on the history of both Universal the park and Universal the studios. They could display props from films and from rides that have been closed. I'm thinking a larger and more elaborate version of what is found in the Horror Make-up show lobby and Lucy, except it won't just focus on horror. Like, you'd start out in a theater where they would show you a film that introduces you to the exhibit and explains the history of universal, then it would let out into a museum/exhibit of Universal.
