And to all those saying they don't like the exterior i say :blah: I'll be going on the ride...not staring at the building

And I say :blah: go spend your money at Six Flags. If Universal wants to keep with its new brand, we need to hold them to the higher bar they themselves have set.

This.

I'm hoping it's much improved in the coming days, but if it stays similar to what they have going now... I'd rather have a normal sound stage with no theming whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure we also now know why we never got concept art for this. Why bother?

It's terrible.

And it's not going to get better.

I wish Creative understood how to theme exteriors.

To be fair, it's hard to theme a building perfectly to all areas when all four sides are on stage. However, they could definitely do a lot better than this. I'm very pessimistic about it at this point.

I hope the make the building even "uglier" than what a few of you are saying it already is. Complain complain complain...that all I see. It has been said before but I'll repeat it, what would your alternative be? I personally feel what they are doing is perfectly fine. I think the building needs to stand out. I have barely seen the first movie so I don't recognize anything on the current building but I don't have a problem with what I'm seeing. I'd rather see a ride like the gringotts ride have a jaw dropping exterior because its in an emersive area. This building is in an area with a bunch of sound stages that look alike.

So again, what would YOU rather see???

A plain sound stage, even a building painted to the color of Rip Ride Rockit with Syd Vinyl's face slapped on it.

I'd rather have no theming than poor theming, which is what it's looking like early on. There's FAR too much (ugly) gray.

In a theme park, the parkscape plays a critical role in the establishment of the experience.

It's a building. It's one of the most technologically advanced rides ever created.

Some of you sound worse than a few toddlers I know who ask for candy but when given they complain bc they got sour skittles instead of the original kind.

And therefore, the park is doomed because this building is uglier than the one before it? I would love it to be all wicked cool and stuff, but there is a cost-benefit limit to everything. I am curious about the brackets holding the pipes... but it ain't the end of all things UOR for me. An industrial building will fit fine in NY and look austere from the Rockit area. We will all get used to it and come to accept if not love it.

It's not make it or break it for me and it sure wont take away from the ride experience itself.

Who said it was doomed Teebin? But why can we praise them for their success, but not be critical of their mistakes? We already know everything about the ride, so it's natural people will critique the exterior because it and the queue are basically all the new stuff to the theme park fans.

I don't care about the inside, I don't care about the rest of the park, the fact is that they copped out. It's not the end of the world, but I think it's fair to point that out on a theme park discussion board of all places.
