This thread goes in circles whenever somebody doesn't absolutely worship the building.

1. Somebody voices an opinion.
2. "Haters."
3. Voicing the right to have an opinion.
4. "You should be appreciative. You should be thankful."

WE have acknowledged that it was built in an unprecedented amount of time. WE have acknowledged that it amazing to have it. WE have been appreciative that Comcast has poured so much money into the parks. However, YOU still jump all over anyone who voices an opinion that isn't yours. It's repetitive and one-sided.

Calling us, the people who've been here for years, who have discussed the dark days of the parks, who realize how much things have changed, unappreciative, is just downright ridiculous.

Hmm... Hogwarts looming over Jurassic Park drives me insane, but this doesn't bother me a bit. Must be the "backlot" nature of US. Illusions are broken there from many different angles.

I really think they should have moved that JP Entrance gate farther back, its definitely odd to get the gate and hogwarts in the same shot.

I always wondered that...it would have been such a simple fix.

And honestly I don't see what they could have done to really make this building not stand out, it's huge. So just based on the effort to not take away any future space but still give a new attraction, I'm ok with how it looks.

This excuse of it being large and showing all sides is just silly. The building is only large in its context. There was no technical challenge to be surmounted. It was a design, and possibly financial, choice.

Man i wish everything was built today! I cant wait!!! lol Transformers, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts Express, Gringotts, Springfield, JP expansion, Disaster refurb, Kid zone refurb! i mean when you put it on paper it's nuts! Disney better get going. And i know we have said all this a million times over but honestly Universal is so awesome and are gonna spoil the hell out of us! And after all that there still will be more land and ideas to come. I for one am never gonna let go of King Kong..and both King Kong and Fast and the Furious would be perfect in the Hollywood area. Also in IOA after the JP expansion i would love to see them do something with the big theater between Marvel and Toon Lagoon. Any realistic ideas you guys would like to see?? for the theater or for attractions in general?..btw i know this is off topic but im bored and wanna start a good discussion and idk how to start a thread haha

And I think I agree with you. I think it's ugly, but not as ugly or lazy as it could have been. I'm just not an apologist either so I tend to side with the senior members on here who have a right to their opinion.

I know anything Marvel will be complicated now because of Disney but what about a 20-30 min preview show of Spiderman: turn off the dark? It would be good to give people a taste of it and then in turn they'd want to see it when in NYC.

You know, I actually really like it. True, it may have actually fit better in terms of themeing at Marvel Super Hero Island since there is the comic book tie in, or somewhere close to Men in Black, but it's a ride about futuristic robots that transform into earthbound forms. Did we expect a quaint little coffee shop facade? The theme of the ride is that you're entering the N.E.S.T. facility and while in there the shard of the All Spark is stolen. It only makes sense for the outside of the building to be that facility. Perhaps the location is a touch on the odd side, but there wasn't really anywhere else to put it if they were going to do it right now. I'm perfectly happy with it. Is it my favorite theme? No. But I like it. I think it's a nice unique addition. Not to mention, if people are trying to find the Transformers ride, it won't exactly be difficult for them to spot, which can't be a bad thing for Universal.

You may have stated it already somewhere in the thread, but what would you have liked to see instead? I'm just curious...

Actual facades. The idea of the NEST facility doesn't bother me at all. Just the lazy/haphazard way they went about it.

Does anyone know if they are cycling the ride.I assume they are.Can you hear it from the gift shop?
I guess the ride doesn't move if one of those roll up doors is open?
march 23 is the first day of spring break blackout (for power pass) is there a chance softs might start then and Grand Opening will be July 1st since month long blackout of the Studio's starts then.I realize any opinion or inside info can change if something goes wrong with ride (they already have one running that should have got the bugs out)

I am trying to plan for this summer but without the information it is hard to know when to book rooms
plus room rates will go up when the hotels figure this out (more people in town = higher rates)

Alright. I wasn't sure if you were looking for a completely different approach, like a simple looking soundstage. Facades could have really made this an incredible show building.

Regardless of how its themed, I think it would always stick out due to the massiveness of the building.
