That's a good trade off...I feel SLoP is perfect for Studios as they already have Yoshi...But it's not necessarily a huge deal

I true Minions dark ride would be a lot of fun though in EU

Yea, a minion dark ride using the SLoP/Yoshi system, with SloP still going in Shrek would be the best of the best option, but I felt like that was getting greedy haha

Am I the only one not at all interested in this ride concept? It's neat on paper, but I get the feeling I wouldn't care for it in practice.

It doesn't have the same feeling as what has been discussed on the forums. The kouka arm vehicle concept I thought was going to be the best ride idea I've heard so far. But, permits and details are still forthcoming...so I'm not going to pass any judgement too early. I have to admit, I'm probably most stoked for this particular land than anything else. SNW will be epic... just want this land to be good for so many reasons. Glad to see progress finally happening though.

I'm not sure if I really like the idea of an entire Illumination land, but if that gets SLoP in Orlando and Pokemon in USF then I'm all for it.

I’d love to see the monsters land have some beetlejuice and ghostbusters representation that way it’s not just the monsters. I feel like this is the one land that seems to be really empty and scares me that it may not make the cut by the time it opens.

It’s insane to me a minion dark rice has never happened properly, SLOP showed they can do dark rides well, so put that stuff into practice with the Minions

I think the easiest and best way they'd bring Illuminations is to go all out on Despicable Me and Minions. They already have the the land built out from Beijing, including restaurants, shops, and attractions. I'd imagine one flat ride, one kiddie coaster, one walkthrough, and hopefully one dark ride (eg SLoP style ride).

I'd prefer to leave Sing in Japan. From what I've heard and seen, it's just not a strong enough attraction for an American audience, but goes over well in Japan (and I assume Beijing). Instead they could bring the rumored Villain-Con walkthrough, which would also keep the land more cohesive.

Despicable Me is one of Universals biggest IPs, and is fairly well represented in other Universal parks. If EU is getting Illuminations, then DE should get it's own land.

I think the fact that Sing has a mandarin version of the show from Japan--debuting at Beijing at lauch, makes me think that if Illumination is getting a standalone land; that it would make absolute sense of an english version being part of it.

Ideally, I would have the land separated into small sections, with a "City" portion being that of Pets and Sing, and then Minions being a "Carnival" oriented land, with a fully fledged Super Silly Fun Land as part of it (with perhaps some kind of Minion/DM oriented dark ride, based on that of the hero organization from DM2 and DM3 respectively).

Pets going to Epic is disappointing for me. I was really hoping they'd use it to replace Shrek and improve USF's entrance. Epic has so much already.

I think it's a pretty neat concept. Would like to see the idea repurposed for USF at some point.

That looks amazing and could have been so creepy.

It would have been nice to have a different ride system, but admittedly the Kukas are just capable of so much more.

In all honesty, FJ was kind of scary with so much going on and the sets so close to you. Maybe they'll set them a little further back this time.

I don't think anyone, outside of Universal Execs., knows for sure 'if' and where Pets is going, at this point in time.

From my perspective, it doesn’t feel like Orlando wants it at all. Which is a shame.

So the right half of the plot originally devoted to Wizarding World may just remain empty?

Could it be because of capacity? I know USH has been having some issues with loading and stuff which is affecting the already pretty low capacity.

That’s me guessing. And they could just set it as a future expansion for Potter of course. The key takeaway is that I don’t think they’re cutting the whole land, even if they don’t have time to design something new to replace that one attraction for opening.

When people heard the VR thing might move, there was a lot of jumping to conclusions that that meant the land in Epic was completely canceled, which I don’t think is the case.

I don’t know what it is, but it feels like East Coast don’t wanna do things West Coast does these days. That’s just me observing from the outside and sharing my opinion though.

I think most of us agree USF would benefit greatly from Pets (or anything physical like that,) and yet it never seems to get the greenlight, but that’s a discussion for another thread.

Curious that the second one did so poorly (relative to expectations at least). Not that I'm a fan of those movies but quality is most certainly not an indicator of box office.

While I’d still want Pets in USF regardless.... in relation to Epic Universe and the resort in general, I’m fine with this only if they create their own Minion version of that ride. Do Minion Park with some flats and a big dark ride at the back rather than Minion Mayhem, and I think that works.

Not sure the land is based on the Fantastic Beasts films, even if locations introduced in it are included. Main ride likely more Potter (and always was).

I think they’re looking for ways to incorporate creature designs from the newer films, as a way to experience them in the parks, but while not having to focus on stories or characters from the FB movies. The same way Hagrids has mentions of things like salamanders, nifflers, and skrewts, etc, yet they weren’t in the Potter movies.

So, fantastic beasts lower case, not proper noun, if that makes sense lol.
