yes the water level it looks like when the let the water back in it will cover those sections at the bottom where as in London it shows at low tide. And in universal you wont ever get to see them

The next two shots show that the water level is correct in relation to the lower mason work. It's hard to visualize in the pictures but in person it appears correct.

Wow Bob, your pictures answer dozens of questions! Like anything however, they create dozens more, but that is what a picture should do!

Had a request for more info on the material being used on the waterfront wall. This caused me to reexamine the pictures for further detail. Here's what I found . . .

The flat visible mason-work is being applied as a veneer as shown in the next two shots. It appears to be made from Fiber Reinforced Lightweight Concrete. It also appears that a scratch coat is applied over the poured substrate to aid in adhesion.

AmityDemo-048.jpg

AmityDemo-050.jpg

You can clearly see the fibers in this shot.

AmityDemo-051.jpg

The final shot shows that some of pieces have a foam core.

Why would pieces of concrete need a foam core like that? Does it reduce the cost of construction? More water resistance?

I'm guessing exactly that. Well, save the latter. I'm not sure about the moisture-absorbing properties of concrete, but I'm guessing that since foam is so light and cheap, it's used to alleviate some of the weight stress of the concrete. It is, after all, only theming, not a structural component.

Is all of the demo work just for the Hogwarts Express?

And surrounding theming and walkways

Edit: And whatever type of system they plan on using to scan park to park tickets.

Yeah, that whole system is going to be crazy. I have to think they are just going to do away with the One-Day/Base ticket (they don't even really advertise it, especially when you are at the park) and just have a ticket for the two parks be the most basic option.

Edit: And do away with any type of single-park per day ticket.

The smaller pieces of cornice with the foam centers were cast in that fashion so that they could be cut to fill remaining gaps in the span between posts. Note that all other pieces of cornice that have the same shape are exactly the same size and hollowed out on the backside. The 'standard' sized mold had a reverse mold to create the hollow and lighten the weight but they wouldn't cut well. The solid foam filled is to fill the variable ends between posts while keeping them light at the same time. It's all very logical and smart.

FWIW, the Hogsmeade Station permit mentioned a ticketing building.

Well, at least UO is doing its part in adding jobs and adding them in spades across Attractions, Food and Beverage, Merchandise, and now, Entrance Operations. That will be good for many locals, that's for sure.

As if this wasn't entirely known, I have 100% confirmation that this will be exactly what we've all been talking about.

And that it's "going to rock!"

i still wonder what they will be doing with tickets. It would make sense to get rid of 1 day/1 park tickets..but I have a feeling they will keep them around, and try to upsell the "full potter experience" instead.

They'll probably still keep the 1 day/1 park ticket for those who don't care about Potter, but they'll most likely have some 'The Potter Experience' ticket for the train and such

I've said it before on each side of the train when you get off there will be 3 exits:

2 park tickets, 2nd park addon booth, re-ride on the train back to original park.

I literally never considered the possibility of just riding back to the first park... Smart, smart. I'm not sure how they plan to do this with the amount of people that will be there, but I think it's possible. From what I've heard, this expansion is just leaps and bounds of exciting material.

Because in all honesty the train can easily hold 500 people per trip....IFFFF the train ride is 5 minutes each way thats a 6000 per hour ride capacity, which is insanely high....lets cut that in half and be more realistic with only 3000 an hour is still crazy, and thats just one train, if they have 2 going back and forth which is the rumor, and lets say that each train could hold 200, which is 4800 an hour.

They won't have a problem I think with long queues with this train IMHO...to give you a basis of comparison, the MK trains can hold up 360 guests, and they have 2 or 3 trains running.

So with 2 trains at each 180, thats 4320 an hour...this train will not be the capacity nightmare some people are trying to make it out to be.

Ohhh man, I knew the ticket debate would come back.

But anyway, I agree that we might likely see the option of two parks tickets, add-ons, or re-rides. I find it hard to believe that Uni would try to pull the park merger idea. I don't think it would sell well at all.
