I remember a while back that HTF or one of the other insiders said we weren't going to enter the Gringotts ride through the bank's main entrance but through another entrance....if so, then where would we be entering and how would it look like, being that Gringotts is highly guarded, I doubt we'd be able to find another entrance...

I'm also really curious about how big Gringotts will actually be? Will it be along the lines of the Three Broomsticks, or will we get a larger, more immersive dining experience?

I'm assuming you meant to compare The Leaky Cauldron, not Gringotts, to The Three Broomsticks?

Quick little update: They're pretty much done with closing up the rest of Gringotts' show building along with the station. They've also added some sort of steel wall to the left of the station (where the train enters and exits) behind the exposed track. I assume it will provide a nice backdrop or facade to continue the theme of the station just outside the train entrance/exit so you can't possibly catch a glimpse of backstage.

The sheath to the sword, if anyone recalls.

Also, the entrance to Gringotts will be close enough, just not where you'd expect it to be.

I do believe that the HE WILL be in 3D. But a new glasses less high tech version. I have heard it will be similar in tech to a Nintindo 3DS.

I hope everything's all right! For HE, another possibility could be screens similar to the ones used for Forbidden Journey? I forget where exactly (I think it was here a few hundred pages back) but I recall someone saying the HE cabins would have projections. The FJ projections do create some depth, so could it be possible they could reuse that technology for HE?

HTF said that the entrance side of the train will be projections while the cabin side windows will use another technology not based on projection.

Are you suggesting lenticular Disneyhead?

Here's what I'm curious about:
We know that the E-ticket ride takes place Gringotts bank, but the queue line involves Bill Weasly's office & the elevators in the Ministry of Magic. What is the connection (physical and story wise) to get us from one location to another? I don't recall them being adjacent in the books...

I actually demoed a 65" glasses-free parallax TV at IAAPA, it's a nifty gimmick but (for now) the resolution is quite low, and you have to keep your head fairly still to avoid crosstalk artifacts.
I think the real future is in a system that can track faces and dynamically direct a different image to each viewers' eye in real-time.

Bill Weasley is Ron's brother who works at Gringotts, not Arthur who is Ron's father and works at the Ministry. I haven't heard anything about elevators.

Doh! I knew that, really ;-)
But what about the elevators HTF hinted at? Is there any Ministry of Magic involved in Phase 2?

Jeez, thanks for catching that yes, I was trying to compare the Leaky Cauldron. Must have been tired last night :stunned:

I think it's just something that's not in the books that we need to accept as something that was behind the scenes.

Is this a sure thing or merely a guess? Seems iffy that they could make parallax work with 4 people spread out over a 5' width on either side of the windows.

I have heard that the tech being used is based off of this principle. Oh, and that the effect is pretty amazing.

But I should say that someone else tried to explain a multi-layered screen tech that he thought they were using.

Who said other Wizarding businesses can't utilize the same elevator systems used in the Ministry?

Exactly. I don't remember exactly how Harry got to the vaults at first, but honestly, I can't see them being right on the first floor, ya know?

This is what Whylightbulb at WDWMagic said about the Hogwarts Express tech a year ago:

Screamscape is pretty close although the projection/media system will be far more advanced than the example Lance gives. During tests people have been getting a bit sick due to the ultra-realism and depth perception. The media actually needs to be created in layers with varying speeds represented based on the speed of the train and sequence. As far as in cabin effects, let's just say that the cabins could get a bit chilly at times for one example.

And this Parkscope article has a rundown of one of his other quotes

If I remember correctly it was essentially the same thing as a mine car.

Yes, which will be the main ride vehicle for the Gringotts attraction, but, it seems as though the bank would have multiple levels, especially for security. The main lobby would be on the first floor of the bank, then I would assume to get down in to those underground caverns before getting on one of those carts, one would have to take some sort of an elevator...
