I thought the shot at 0:48 on The View video was more impressive. Not to say that one isn't as well.

I think this is the first one I've seen where you get a good feel of how engulfed you are in the land.

Looks good at this point in time. :thumbsup:The land certainly works well with the look of Animal Kingdom. You could transport the landscaping, which when unlit, looks similar to any of the AK nature trails. Some of the trails in AK have exotic plants that would not look out of place in Pandora. My only question , at this point, is what activities & places to linger /visit will there be to differentiate this from being just a nature trail, albeit Pandoran in name, besides a few interactive moments.

The nature trail will be overtly Pandoran at night so my bigger question is what the land entertainment will be like. If they can have some entertainment like Celestina, Frog Choir, etc, that will go a long way. They need high quality offerings that will make people want to stick around to see them and maybe grab a Lumpia (and a beer ;))while waiting.

Yep, that's my feeling too. I want more than a 15 to 30 minute walk looking at beautiful landscaping before I get on the ride. That's what will make or break this land, to tie enough time up to spend money on food, drinks & merch, while you're spending a few hours being entertained & examining nuances in the land.Hopefully, they deliver.

As i said and I'm standing by it, visually beautiful but I know this isn't going to be for me so I hope everyone else really enjoys it. Also since Disney is doing Lumpia they better make it cheap because most people who do eat lumpia can get a 10 for 5 bucks at most Filipino restaurants. Hopefully the mark up isn't ridiculous.

Also I will say stop making the floating mountains happen. If that's the only thing you can focus on..yikes. I do like the interactivity in the Banshee queue though.

Everything in theme parks is always going to be inflated. I can get the same the same Tunnocks caramel wafer in HP for about 30 cents and I think it was about $4 in the park.

When JC talks about the mix of real foliage and pandoran foliage, the idea would be great if not for the fact that the stillness of the fake plants makes them stand out like a sore thumb. It's not even a conscious thought, but the second you see something completely still when everything else is swaying in the breeze it instantly kills the illusion. Apart from that, it looks pretty good. I like the colour palette.

Other quick thoughts:

- First glimpse of the mountains on sticks (seen in a couple of the videos) is far from convincing.
- I get the feeling that what we've seen of the river ride is pretty much all there is to it.

Overall I wouldn't say I'm excited per se, but perhaps quietly enthused. I think this will be nothing special on paper / in photos but the experience of being there with the sights, smells, and energy of people moving about will probably make it something really rather enjoyable in the flesh.

Well they are having FPs for just the land so maybe they plan on rationing how many can get in.

I think there is only 1 or 2? Shops. This won't be the same experience as Potter where the different shops are also a part of the attraction. It will be cool to walk around the area, but I don't see folks "hanging out" in the area like folks do in both Potter lands.

Here's an updated google trends comparison of the three major theme park lands added stateside since 2010 (using the most commonly searched term for each). As you would expect with Avatar promo picking up, "Avatar World" has reached the highest amount of people caring about it since not long after it's initial announcement... but it's still nowhere near the amount of people that search for "Harry Potter World".

Needless to say, Pandora has a LONG way to go if it hopes to be as successful as it is setting out to be.

Try "Avatar Land" instead. That's how most people find my youtube videos I notice.

EDIT: Nevermind, little difference

I tried Avatar Land... I found Avatar World to have more, especially in it's infancy.

EDIT: The only time Avatar passed Wizarding World was right around the time of it's announcement:

I tried all of those... Avatar World is seemingly what the GP has been referring to it as most. World of Avatar was incredibly low.

Just curious, if you wouldn't mind, how do:
Star Wars, AVATAR, and Harry Potter (as IPs) compare on Google Trends?

That won't work well as Star Wars would have an unusually large spike in 2015 due to TFA. Theme park wise however....

Its interesting to see Pandora starting to trend higher than Star Wars land.

You also picked the proper name for Pandora, which almost no one uses in a search. As I said earlier, "Pandora World" is the most search term for this land.
