ive always thought the river journey would be somewhat boring to me
i ve also always thought the ride was really for families with young children, so what a 22 year old guy finds boring a 4/5 year boy would find fun

Just pondering, I wonder if there is a provision in the contract to 'Disnify' this area if things don't go as well as hoped? I'm talking Mickey plushies with blue ears and tails etc
Rowling had a lock-tight agreement in place to stop this ever happening at WWOHP, but it would be interesting to know what Disney negotiate as a pre-nup with these IP lands as a potential 'insurance policy' if things don't light up (pun intended) the way they wish?

As someone who was looking more to the boat ride, that was my biggest disappointment. It's pretty from the few images I've seen, but it seems to have no soul.

Id really wait to see it yourself as got stated before....in any one scene on NRJ there may be about 15 effects going on at the same time...while you're looking at the frogs jumping above, you totally missed the caterpillar crawling through the log or the plant glowing and growing on your right

The ride is not perfect but the video does not do the detail justice

Agree 100%... the details in there are incredible... this is why I hate on ride videos... they never truly capture the magic of an attraction

One thing to also keep in mind is that River Journey was considered a C-ticket by Disney when designing it. By those standards, what little I’ve seen of it looks pretty terrific.

It was never intended to be on the order of something like Pirates (any iteration).

Hopefully ironclad- just to set the precedent that Disney is willing to bend finally. But it doesn't really matter for Avatar. Blue Mickey Avatar plushes aren't going to affect this area at all. Its not like this IP needs to stay true to form like HP or Star Wars would.

Doing a quick calculation based on a 4:30 video for FoP results in a resolution that is 36x greater than 1080p. That is...wow!

SWL will undoubtedly be jammed full of those heinous pre-existing Jedi Mickey & Darth Goofy dolls. I really hope Cameron stood firm in negotiations, but who knows!

It's likely it was created in 8K, runs at 60 FPS vs the little under 30 for a traditional film. That's account for the increase.

That's what I was thinking as well. The higher frame rate already doubles the number of pixels at an equal duration. I'm guessing multiple 4k projectors?
