A stand up motion simulator is a really cool concept...I don't believe there is anything like that around right?

While yes, it is cool and would be fun for many young people, I worry it would be too much of a liability for disoriented falls. Can you imagine standing through Spider Man? I would be on my ass in seconds minus the spin!

I'm a Twister fan, I've said this before, I also said my negative opinions on this Jimmy Fallon/Soarin' attraction as well. Now that it turns out it's using old technology and the UC team is bored, I hate the idea even more. If you're gonna replace something, at least make a kick ass replacement. Why are they building this again?

Some of you dislike Twister, and that's fine, but you have to at least admit that Twister is unique. There's nothing in the UOR like it. Do we need ANOTHER motion simulator attraction, especially with DM down the block and Transformers around the corner? It would be a shame to lose a unique attraction to another motion simulator, an outdated one at that. If they wanna replace something, replace the dying Shrek. Kill a outdated 4D show with an outdated motion simulator.

Edit: Also, as a New Yorker, this sounds exactly like the New York Skyride located inside the Empire State Building, which seems to have the exact same ride system. Not a big deal to FL or international guests, but clearly boring for everyone who lives in NYC who takes trips down to Universal. I don't go on this crappy ride here, why am I gonna go on it at Universal?

I guess you could say one technically did exist. It was called Vertigo Theater and was at Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. A bunch of people would just stand in a room and watch a video on a huge curved screen. It did feel like you were moving but it was very outdated and has since been replaced.

When I was a kid, we had something like that at the local county fair.

A popular attraction at many regional parks, commonly called Cinema 180.

Basically Soarin' without the seats.......their film is even very very similar that the one my local park used back in the 80s and 90s.

If it turns out like Turtle Trek, ugh. It was a good idea, with terrible execution. It could've been so much more, but I seem to say that about most things at Sea World that aren't shows.

I had the same with 3D AA's at WDW. I was so glad they used flat cardboard cut-outs at Buzz Lightyear. It made that ride so awesome instead of those overused 3D AA's

Oh come on, 3D is overdone at the studios. I'm not asking for them to downgrade into 2D because I'm bored of 3D. Just saying they should move on from using that one element again and again

Same, don't get me wrong 3D is amazing. It's just once you've experienced for a long time it can get boring.

By that same token, the quality and the way it's utilized just keeps getting better and better.

That is true but everytime a new attraction comes out and pushes the boundaries of 3D tech, every other attraction in the park gets a little more dated. T2 was once the most amazing thing you could do with 3D and now it looks like garbage compared to shrek, and that looks like garbage compared to gringotts. Like t2 and TF are across the street from each other, imagine the family that's going there for the first time, going on TF then T2 after, it's a downgrade in their eyes. Nothing is totally timeless because of it and part of the reason I think the studios park is a tad bit overrated

Literally the same exact thing can be said about animatronic attractions. The AAs in Splash Mountain and Pirates make the ones in Jungle Cruise look like crap. Yet it's still a great attraction. The AAs in Mermaid make Peter Pan look like a traveling carny ride, yet it has 75+ minute waits year round.

Totally agree, technology is a blessing and a curse. However AAs age way better than screen tech, Peter pan aside, everything looks great next to each other. You can go on pirates, little mermaid and JC in a row and still feel the same amount of quality, try going on DM, T2 and Simpsons in a row, the difference is beyond staggering

Meh, disagree entirely. It's the same. The WDW rides are just seen as "classics" so the staggering differences are glossed over mentally.
