I think this will be the general consensus of the land:
Attractions - "They could have been better for what they're worth"
Scenery/Placement - "Beautiful"
Food - "Great but makes no sense"
Overall - "Visually pleasing land but not as immersive as Potter or Cars Land"

Yeah, I agree. I'm not very attached to DAK, it's definitely my least favorite Disney concept so it certainly doesn't really bother me having Avatar there. My only real issue with it is seeing the resources put to such waste, when so many other things could have been done. I think Avatar will add another item to most visitors checklist, but will have no impact at all on driving attendance. As you said Star Wars is a whole other story. Star Wars will be popular regardless of what they do, however what they do I think will have a long lasting effect on people's perception of what Disney is able to do creatively. If they mess it up it could take a long time to live that down. In a sense Avatar land I guess has given them a practice project (with low expectations) to take on as they try to get back in the game.

Yea, a practice project. Or as I like to think of it, another billion dollar WDW experiment that the other Disney parks around the world will not want to duplicate, just like MyMagic+.

Walt Disney World: The Disney with the luxury of space... And the balls to spend a billion dollars on a bracelet and then another on blue people.

(But at least we don't turn our Tower of Terrors into half-baked Marvel rides.)

I suppose there's nothing wrong with setting low expectations. But, I'd have to disagree with this being the general consensus, particularly with regard to "attractions" and "overall".

I wonder what the lines will be like for this "limited preview". My guess, it will be a mad house. Have fun storming the castle guys!

Take lots of pictures.

I agree with you on AK, it needs as much more as it can get. Everest was the best addition so far, but there's still much more room for improvement to make it an all day park.

I think the popularity of Disney's new attractions doesn't speak to their quality, so much as it does to the need for fresh things to do at WDW. Frozen, Mine Train, and Soarin' aren't the best rides in the world, but guests need new rides so bad that their Fastpasses run out as far as 60 days in advance. Luckily WDW is finally getting new things over the next five or so years, because clearly the guests are clamoring for (literally) anything new.

Totally agree. I hope they are not done with DAK.

Agree on Disney and their IPs. Which is why I'm interested to see how this will fare since so many have animosity or ambivalence for Avatar. It's going to have that new car smell, but for how long?

I get that. That's how I feel about Fast and Furious, and to a lesser extent Fallon. I do think there will be some cool things in all of these projects though. But it's frustrating to see this and wait for the main courses (Star Wars and Nintendo).

This whole fastpass+ 60 day window policy is so frustrating. Today, the 28th is the 60 day window. Fast passes should be available at 7am today but there probably won't be any because of people that are staying, for example, from May 25 to the 28th. They already took them all, even though the 27th, 28th isn't within the 60 day window when they took them.

I feel like that shouldn't be allowed for a grand opening. Today should be the day someone can grab those fast pass considering it really is 60 days away from opening.

There's going to be a lot of angry people later today.

There were no FP for Flight of Passage for the 27th. I was able to get the one for the boat ride at 4pm, which is good. I'll just make it out really early on 27th since they have early magic hours.
