Being the last slot of the day is there a chance for retires on fop if everyone gets though or will they just close it and force us out at 8?

They were giving out entry tickets for each time slot, the only reason you wouldn't be able to ride FOP is if it broke down and couldn't be recovered earlier in the day, like a few days ago.

i thought their review was good
i disagree with Len that Soarin is a better ride than FOP. I would say most agree that have been on both that FOP is much better than Soarin. They didnt talk about the food i think is one of the big hits of this land. This wil likely become one of the best if not the best QS in a WDW theme park
But i do agree with him on Urban vs natural setting is more personal opinion on which is better. To me neither one is better both are great. DA has more stuff to do in it

They're going to another episode to focus on food and gifts, they only had time for land and rides in this one.

Sad to hear Testa saying Soarin is better. Soarin is OK as a ride, but nothing great. I don't even rate it in my top 20 Orlando rides. After watching Impressions France for the umpteenth time immediately following a ride on Soarin two weeks ago, I think the Impressions France film is a better attraction......As I said in the Race Through NY thread, I can't see how these bloggers can do reviews after only one ride on an attraction. Ride it 5 or 6 times, then tell me FOP is not as good as Soarin. Then I might believe him. Otherwise, I find his comment baseless at this point in time.

There's just no way you can call Soarin better. Everything about that ride experience has been upgraded big time for FoP. Someone called it Soarin 3.0 and I have to say that's a fair comparison after riding it. Just temper your expectations about the ride system going in and you should be very happy.

Hot take: Soarin is extremely overrated and more so with the new video. I would rather ride Fallon.

Heh, I basically said the same thing in my Fallon review. I agree with you. Soarin is overrated. I thought Fallon was better. The new film is OK, about the same as the former, but the bending buildings & unnecessary use of sites that required CGI really take away from it. A plethora of world wide monuments to choose from & they picked a few that you can't film. That made no sense at all.

I agree with you guys. As someone who just rode SOARIN for the first time the other weekend, I didn't get what all the fuss was about. I've been going to Disney for over 20 years and I'm glad I never did Soarin (not sure when it actually opened). I always choose Test Track for FP and would never wait stand by

Why am I not surprised to see such Soarin' antipathy in here? ;)

In any event, Testa saying Soarin' is better is kind of baffling (sight unseen). I mean, I like Soarin' quite a bit, but Flight of Passage had damn well better top it. And from the reactions of most, it sounds like it has.

I don't dislike Soarin. I actually like it. But it's kind of over rated. Low capacity & the fact it's in a park with few evenly mild thrill attractions, helps it to stand out. If it was at Universal people would be ho hum middlin about it. My bottom line take is it's good but not great.

Everyone should listen to the show, they explain all their reasonings.

It comes down to emotional connections. You have connections to the Eiffel Tower or other actual locations. Made up creature on Pandora, not so much.

Yea, they like the part with the Leonopteryx (big red banshee) that I liked on FoP because they remember seeing Jake tame it in the film, and it was a big part of the movie's storyline. Seeing something you can connect with means a lot, and helps that moment stand out on the ride.

i agree this is what he said but he flat out said he prefers soarin which i would guess maybe 2% of the people who ride will agree with him

EDIT: i also dont get his reasoning behind soarin either simply because it jumps around from place to to place
at least this is one story in FOP
For the record i thought he was overly optimistic about NRJ

That's a fair way to look at it.
