Knott's Scary Farm 2022

Personally I wouldn't read too much into their billboard art. In recent years, I've found Knott's advertising for Scary Farm is more about using some kind of eye catching key art to push dates out and less about their mazes.
Except this isn't just random keyart, it is literally the Grimoire book that the maze is based on.

And during their media preview, they specifically did say the book belonged to Sarah Marshall & is where the evils of Scary Farm were unleashed. And it is the same one from last year's show.

I've been lazy... and I've got A LOT of pics to post leading up to Tuesday's Employee Preview (where we'll get our first spoilers & whatnot).

Anyway, here are the other Marketplace themed display windows... first up Virginia's..

Knott's announced their limited edition Tiki Mug that will go on sale TOMORROW! It will be available at Cordy's & the online marketplace. It is $50 (limit 2 per person) & ONLY 2000 available.

Now onto the other merch currently available as of yesterday. Universal isn't the only haunt event to make you go broke this spooky season.

I've got several updates to post, but I've got roughly 300 pics to go through from yesterday lol

Despite being under construction for it's 2023 revamp... Fiesta Village got some spooky attention on the main ride section to the left of Jaguar.

Here's the tiki mug AND the shirt!!

Cordy's has a big Haunt merch section. But they try to be spooky with blacklights & show off the UV lit shirts... unfortunately it just makes the area ridiculously dark & hard to actually see the merch. Very annoying.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows what the early entry mazes are for the boo-fet this year? I know usually they're the ones behind ghost rider, but I wasn't sure if it was any others besides that, (Grimoire, Origins, etc). It doesn't seem like it changes year to year but I'm not really in the know.

It'll be the usual like previous years... Waxworks, The Depths, Bloodline (do it early or get express), Dark Entities..

Grimoire & Origins both enter from "inside" the park instead of backstage like the other 4, so those 2 will be 7pm

Yeah, the early entry mazes are just the Ghostrider mazes. Bloodline, The Depths, Dark Entities and Wax Works.

Question why is this starting so late? HHN will be on its third weekend when this opens, when I went last year it was packed so not sure if its staffing or what but while USH is adding dates Scary Farm is only going to have 5 weekends?

Nice! They have a small Wheel of Death. I was there Saturday and was wondering what they were going to do with that area to the right of Calico Mine Stage. If they could add a Globe of Death motorcycle stunt act, that'd be awesome. Looks like Carnaval Du Grotesque will be a much bigger stage show this year. Also, curious if the magic show will be any different with the name change from Magic and Mirth to Dark Magic. Maybe a new magician with a darker theme like Dan Sperry or The Sacred Riana?

Not knocking on Jabbawockeez, but these are the types of themed entertainment HHN needs.

Yeah, I feel like we lost a week this year. This should've started last Thursday. The only thing I can think of is they're saving budget to go all out for next year's 50th event.

KSF has always started late September. One is definitely staffing nowadays, the other being the unnecessary extension of Summer Nights/Soak City. Also keep in mind that Knott's is very cheap when it comes to event operations, despite being on its 49th year.

Now onto the last photo dump (because I'm lazy)

The Globe of Death would be crazy! I think Knott's has found a good entertainment option for Scary Farm that other events are missing for sure. I'm hoping with the pass this year, I am able to actually check out all of the shows.

Edit: I just read the website's description of the Conjurers show and unless I'm reading too much into the copy, it seems like it will actually have some kind of storyline this year:
The fog in Calico is thick. The screams of the denizens of the night echo all around. The only safe place to take refuge is in The Bird Cage Theatre. You know the place, right next to the Undertaker. It seems that with death no longer the end, the Undertaker has nearly been run out of business. Fortunately, in all his dealings with death and the afterlife, he's got a few tricks up his sleeve. Tricks will come in handy as he crosses over to the other side to show our still-living guests what he's learned…

Just realizing I haven't attended the event since 2017. Worked as a monster in 2018 and 2019, COVID shutdown in 2020, and skipped last year. I'll definitely have to go considering Scary Farm was the first haunt I ever attended and holds a very special place in my life.
