So even when they reopen, there might not be anybody to take us

Well, I guess the next few months will be good for climate change...

I agree that this probably means no plans to open parks any time soon.

But let’s also not discount the fact that the DCP puts upwards of 8 people per apartment in tight spaces. It’d be terrible PR if someone was found to have contracted the virus because of that living situation.

Expected.

I wonder how things are going to start back up.When things start to return to normal, the last thing we need is large groups of people forming which is going to be inevitable.

The new JW Marriott Bonnet Creek is currently still scheduled to open on 3/17. We’ll see if that sticks.

I think when things start back up, whenever that is, it’ll be limited hours at first. Be awhile before full
Park hours are back into effect. Can’t imagine many vacationers, potential lay offs, lack of funds, etc. they’ll need less operation hours to begin I would think.

Irony of it all. Even though he was a complete a_ _ at the press conference, his subsequent positive test was probably the catalyst that caused all the other cancellations after the NBA shut down. NBA doesn't shut down, probably no other league would have either, at this point in time, and all the other major closings too. So, a common good ended up happening from a 'bad' moment. Strange how things work out sometimes.

The Pistons were one of the teams that had played the Jazz within the last few weeks.

Just posted this in the Disney Springs thread, but It pertains to this.

Went to Disney Springs tonight. Thought it was worth noting that Stance, Ugg, Lily Pulitzer and Sanuk either closed early or never opened today.

If this trend increases, I’m not sure how much longer Disney Springs has in it.

College kids around the country are getting kicked out of dorms for virtual classes. It would be negligent to keep them there, two to a room, with literally nothing to do and nowhere to go.

Is taking shots at Chapek really appropriate right now?

Yeah, they have to throw in the towel on the CP for now. I hope? Wish? expect! disney to use their travel company to assist them getting home.

Nothing to do with Chapek. Besides, if they really wanted to cut costs they'd be increasing the college program and cutting perm hires. This has everything to do with them expecting the parks to be closed for at the very least the remainder of the semester/term fo the program and sending them home early.

Yup. They’d save a ton of money by laying off a bunch of Full-timers and hiring CPs in their place. It’s just a bad idea to keep these kids in these apartments, plain and simple.

EDIT:

I'm all for taking shots at Chapek any time, tbh, but arguably worse cuts are coming to Universal as well. Can't pin this solely on him. Welcome to the new normal for the next few years.

British Invasion and the Japan drummers final performances are today. There's only so much we can talk about with cuts when the parks aren't even open. Lets see when they reopen and what is there.

I'm currently watching a small fiasco with CMs and Disney Springs involving parks CMs being sent to work shifts they're not trained to perform.
