How does Parade Building (the structure Beetlejuice is) works? I assume they funnel out over by Curious George, does it not?

And a fair point, one that I could argue with a slight change. Moving the exit over towards NY Street.

There are methods that they could take this. But I heavily doubt they'll touch another attraction directly unless if it's an extended queue (like MIB) or directly next.

And I won't be shocked if it isn't. Though I guess this is my hill to die on.

I have called for using that spot you pictured in the past, but not from your entry point, from San Fran.

The problem is that it is such a highly trafficked backstage road that has to be crossed. They would have to hold up the line across the street from the house, then hold traffic on the road very frequently to let guests across (both going to the house and exiting). It’s not something that I feel like is a viable option almost at all.

Couldn't they redirect though automotive and trucks through places such as Backlot Dr and McHales for the side facing Mummy? There'd be no problems for Fifth Avenue for those driving over close to Supercharged.

Redirect the automobile and truck traffic for the busiest event of the year? No. Deliveries need to be made for food, beverage, merch, etc and there literally is no way to redirect because of how the road and everything around it is designed and where it is.

That’s not to mention that the TM bistro is right next to that area, so food deliveries for that need to be made and there will also be many scareactors out of costume generally while on their break.

I honestly feel like F&F queue or BMG are the most viable options.

My 100% sourceless, baseless, ignorant of rights issues, not having read the 6 pages already posted, not giving a care to space or park logistics, made up guesses.

HHN31 - the Quest for More Cash.

Houses

  1. Stranger Things Seasons 3 & 4 - Probably nearing the ending of the show and with the awful taste left in the mouth after the horrible second house following the stellar first house, they're going to want to fix that.
  2. Halloween III - Everybody was soooo excited about the rumor and it was CLEARLY built in Hollywood.
  3. Willy's Wonderland - It's my list so I can say whatever I want :). Would have been the perfect Shrek house.
  4. Crypt TV - The zone impressed me with the costumes, but it was just too damn crowded with everybody trying to take pictures. Put those costumes in a crowd controlled house with no selfie pics and I think it has a ton of potential. It's earned the Trick R Treatment.
  5. Chucky TV Series - Of course.
  6. Universal Monsters - Creature from the Black Lagoon. It's time. Have some black light rooms (or maybe even make it 3D) to have a creature actor on a black cart or something where you could almost make it look like he was swimming in scenes.
  7. Slaughter Sinema Sequel - It's due.
  8. 31 October. Need to get 31 in there, so some kind of mythology that saying "31 October" unleashes evil spirits so they named it All Hallows Eve and then Halloween so people wouldn't say it. Put it in a location (Back SS, Cafe LaBamba) that feeds out into a SZ. More on that later....
  9. Infestation - A house with swarms of locusts, rats, flies, etc. Lots of silet, dark areas (like the Hill House hallway) with crazy surround sound of swarms of insects/vermin with air plasts as your feet and stuff. Maybe some hanging stuff with strobes to illustrate motion. Victims covered in the pests.
  10. Circus Carnies - A cool run down Carnival that could use the old props from Shrek.
  11. UPCHARGE HOUSE. Each event night it's open from 6-8 for $10 to just walk through in a conga line. From 8pm on it's $25 per person to go through in groups (minimum of 4 people, max of 10) as a solo group guaranteed to get every scare. You have to sign up for date and time to get reservations. No info released pre-event. Just a mysterious upcharge house with solo/isolated walkthroughs available by reservation.
Zones
  1. NIN From the Mind of Trent Reznor - His music has been a part of the event for decades, why not give him a Rob Zombie-esque zone with his NIN stuff, solo stuff, and collaborations with Atticus Ross. Original creatures will be in the zone that he thinks up.
  2. Hide & Seek - Seekers go count somewhere, then go off to find the hiders. Some hiders make it to the "Base" but the seekers don't respect their safety there.
  3. 31 October - characters of the house on the streets of NY or in Central Park (depending where the house is) so it's like a house that feeds into a Zone.
  4. Gates of Hell - in Central Park with literal huge gates at the entrance, lots of pyro and red/orange lighting.
  5. Vamp '99 - Prog Rock, emo, techno, etc music zone. I don't care about the Vamp lore that much, but you give me 90's music and it's instantly a fun party zone for me.
Shows
  1. Nightmare Fuel Reloaded in Blue Man Group - On select Mondays and Tuesdays it would be open to people without park or HHN ticketsfor $25 per person. Event nights, put up a gate blocking the sidewalk up to the venue and you can only enter through the park. "Free" for HHN ticket holders on event night. Have the theatre be a "seasonal show venue" where it's used mostly all year long with short run shows moving forward.
  2. Marathon of Mayhem v3.0 - obviously. With Stranger Things theme, Halloween III jingle, Willy's Wonderland song, & Creature from the Black Lagoon in, well, the lagoon, it could recapture some of the magic the first one had that the second one lacked.
  3. Killer Klowns on Parade - Everybody's favorite zone and my favorite thing (parade) kinda mixed in. Every 90min or so, just start playing the KKFOS music throughout the park and have the already created costumes and some kind of single little float with cotton candy cocoons on it and have the Klowns throw candy to the crowd. Parade rungs from F&F to Kwickie Mart like the Death Drums did.

There is absolutely no way they are going to direct guest traffic directly through the perimeter road for the park. This area is by far the heaviest area of traffic for TMs backstage as it is where they all enter from TM parking for all three theme parks. The traffic of golf carts, TM shuttles, and various other vehicles all go directly through this road all day and night and it would not be feasible at all to shut that down or redirect it for a HHN queue. This space is also directly next-door to the TM Bistro and there are always massive amounts of employees walking through here at all times. Every other HHN queue is out of the way, sure they all go through backstage areas, but you rarely see large groups of TMs walking around outside the barricades and that is done intentionally.

Because it's been so long and it's right at the beginning of the Spec season, I'm letting some stuff slide - but there's been a lot of Wishlist posts instead of actual speculation.

I wonder about a tent in the Hollywood Service yard (right In between the ET Building and Esoteric Gate for those who may not know what I’m talking about).

This area is used lightly for the VIP area and there is a compactor there, but it’s fairly quiet back there and would allow a house entrance from Esoteric/Horror Make-Up.

The biggest issue is the highest concentration of scareactors break back across the street from here backstage, but there are ways to solve that honestly. There’s many ways to get back to that area and there’s no food here so TM’s aren’t outside a ton besides going on/off set. They stay in their trailers.

A Witcher house would *rock*

My Netflix wishes, ranked:
1) Fear Street
2) Witcher
3) Bly Manor
4) ST4
5) Midnight Mass

I think we'll get 2 of the above, but I think MM is the least likely just from the subject matter. It's asking for protestors being about Catholicism and faith.

this is gonna sound crazy but the only reason I hope next year has a lot of movie and TV houses is because i want a really good lagoon show,
so even if half the event is all netflix properties, both in houses and shows, I would welcome it.

this year proved that the lagoon show needs more intellectual properties used in the park to be good so I hope netflix gives them at least 3 properties.
I don't know how much Netflix will give uni but I would be perfectly happy if next year becomes Netflix presents: HHN 31
I do the lagoon show every night and this year it wasn't great.
have the lagoon show all be netflix properties

8 Scenes right there. With room for more.
That's personally how I could see them doing it.

And that’s what I mean. That seems super disjointed. It’s not a mash up house: there’s a linear story to be told. How do you tell that story jumping from each of those settings and eras?

I was talking to my UTH guide about the possibility of there being a house using the extra space in the F&F area. Also, With the demolition of FFL and potential loss of the MIB space, would Uni really want to push for 11 houses?

Can do it like AHS and introduce each year. I would personally start with 1666 and then go to 1978, then 1994. Finale would be the Mall scene with the nightglow paint and all of the killers.

That makes the most sense if you're gonna do it. But Fear Street is no where near the level of AHS so unless Netflix plans to continue the Fear Street franchise and keep it in the public eye, then I say there's no chance of it happening.

I think fear street has a pretty good chance considering it did pretty well and they left it open to continue the franchise if they choose. I mean hill house just got a house and its not at the height of its popularity(nor did it ever reach ST or AHS level), sure you could say its sort of in the public eye due to bly manor or midnight mass but they arent connected (and bly manor really only through the haunting name) so anything can happen.

It was mentioned in the Hollywood spec. thread, but basically, the rumor is that they started selling BJ merch on the West Coast before the contract was officially approved over there. Rights holders weren't happy about it canceled the contract.

Similar-ish situation for H3. When they build the maze, they forgot to cover the Silver Shamrock sign. It was a dead giveaway as to what the IP would be so the IP holders got mad and pulled out as well.

Assuming those rumors are true, it's amazing how incompetent Hollywood can be.

Hill House only got a house this year because it was already built from last year, which was timed to promote Bly Manner as well.

Oh boy it's good(?) to be back. Now that speculating on Super Smash Bros. characters is over, speculating on HHN houses will do just as nicely! I'll try to be less annoying this year when it comes to spec, but here's some thoughts I was having regarding 31. They're as realistic as I could possibly make them. Not in any particular order or anything:

31 = Halloween Theme - This may be more wishlist-y but I think that A&D is usually good about their cute wordplay when it comes to theming and stuff. I don't think GA cares enough about the Pumpkin Lord to make him the host, but it would be cool. If not him, then a general rotting/spooky pumpkin theme is something I wouldn't be surprised by at all.

Maybe CryptTV? - I don't think really think the zone created the absolute hype that other Zone -> House properties had (KKFOS, TrT, etc), so I'm not totally sure if the decision makers are gonna want to bank on a house, but the possibility is definitely there. Would be cool to see each of the Creature Feature monsters in their respective habitats.

Chucky - Nothing is a lock, but I think this is the closest we have to one. The show is incredibly popular to the point where I've seen Chucky stans on Twitter. If it continues to stay like that then I think it'll feature somehow at 31. HHN Orlando has gotten incredible with their puppet work, so I think they could make a genuinely scary Chucky house. If COVID guidelines are still in effect it would be a great way to have some really close scares, too.

Universal Monsters - I've heard various rumors and whatnot about making the classic dudes stick around for a while longer, which I don't mind at all. A lot of people seem to LOVE the UM haunts a lot so the hype power for it is there. It and CryptTV may not be able to coexist due to similar creature-feature themes, but that also didn't stop them from doing 3 attractions with some form of "Zombie" or "Undead" in the title in 29, so who knows?

Stranger Things 4 - Definitely not impossible, and taking breaks between ongoing concurrent IPs has happened before. Could even see it complimenting a certain, arguably bigger at this point, other Netflix IP which I think has a chance of showing its face...

No 11th house or other massive operations changes - If HHN decides to make 31 another hugely IP-centered year with things like Chucky, ST4, and whatever else then I could possibly see them putting an 11th house to eat up crowds, especially if COVID has died down a bit (it won't, lol). But especially after 30's seemingly lackluster attendance when compared to 28/29, I don't think there'll be any plans to add an 11th house. And of course, since the Shrek space is just being turned into a flex/HHN space, I don't see the need for any new house locations. I also don't think we'll be getting another (huge) price hike, but it's Universal so IDFK.

and, finally... The one that I think is gonna get people annoyed at me...

I think Squid Game has a serious fighting chance this year - Do I want Squid Game? Not necessarily. I really only thought the couple first episodes were cool. Do I think it'll make a good house, per say? I'm very open when it comes to IPs, we've seen the team time and time again tackle properties that the community has called IMPOSSIBLE since day one, so I'm not gonna say a Squid Game house/scarezone would be destined to be bad, but I also wouldn't say I have full confidence in it being good. It seriously CAN'T be ignored how much of a breakout success the show was, and that it is juuuuust horror adjacent ENOUGH to where a Netflix exec may very well try to push it if the Netflix/HHN relationship is still there. If Squid Game is as much of a part of the cultural zeitgeist a year from today as it is right now, I think SOMETHING Squid Game related is more than likely to appear at HHN 31. Whether that be a house, scarezone, whatever interactive experience, etc. They were doing a Game of Thrones house at some point. It's not out of the realm of possibility at all for them to do Squid Game, whether we like it or not.

At the very least, as a house it'll be something similar to SAW except with the mask dudes instead of Pigs. And as a scarezone it'll be a similar repeat to S&D except with an IP that'll drive sales.

Something I realized the other day is technically since 27 we've had a Zone to House transition every year.
27: Bayou of Blood (24)/Dead Waters
28: Trick 'r Treat (27)/Trick 'r Treat
29: Killer Klowns From Outer Space (28)/Killer Klowns From Outer Space
30: Twisted Traditions (28)/Wicked Growth (Was mentioned on the Tour that the house is a mixture of that Zone and Scarecrow).

So it doesn't necessarily have to be an IP transition to House but also can be Original too.

Chucky could also count since the photo op had its own info sign out front?

I think you would see Seek and Destroy get the house treatment before CryptTV.
